How are the logistics for that going to work?
They could have a longer turnaround and tug the aircraft over to the other terminal or if it departs T2 just have the arrival go to T1 to disembark it's passengers and then they won't have to bus passengers.

Surely the logical option would be to use remote stands and bus passengers to/from the correct terminal? Saves having to tow the aircraft around the airfield.

June looks like 3 aircraft overnighting at T2 . Could be 4 though. For example. on the Monday we have this plan:
0600 to Lanzarote. 0630 to Palma, 0800 to Palma and 0815 to Malaga
1335 from Palma 1435 from Palma
1535 to Malaga, 1535 to Tenerife
1535 from Malaga, 1540 from Lanzarote
1715 to Palma
2245 from Malaga, 2340 from Palma, 0220 from Tenerife

My inner geek David took over and did the whole week which looks a little something like this. It is solely on departure times only:

ACE 06:00 1//PMI 06:30 1//PMI 08:00 1//AGP 08:15 1
AGP 15:35 1//TFS 15:35 1//PMI 17:00 1//PMI 17:15 1

TFS 06:00 2//PMI 06:30 2//AGP 07:45 2
ACE 14:55 2//TFS 15:35 2//PMI 18:15 2

ACE 06:00 3//PMI 06:30 3//AGP 08:15 3

ACE 15:35 4//AGP 15:35 4//TFS 16:05 4//PMI 17:00 4

TFS 06:00 5//PMI 06:30 5//PMI 08:00 5//AGP 08:15 5
ACE 15:35 5//AGP 15:35 5//TFS 15:35 5//PMI 17:05 5//PMI 17:40 5

TFS 06:00 6//PMI 06:30 6//AGP 07:45 6//PMI 08:00 6
ACE 14:55 6//TFS 15:35 6//PMI 16:30 6//AGP 16:35 6//PMI 17:00 6//PMI 17:25 6

TFS 06:00 7//PMI 06:45 7//AGP 07:45 7//PMI 09:00 7
ACE 15:45 7//TFS 16:05 7//PMI 16:30 7//AGP 16:35 7//PMI 17:25 7

From that assessment the departures look fairly staggered and evenly spaced out. Check in spread out evenly for all customers except in a afternoon where for example Friday see's 3 15:35 departures. I would say that it will work in a morning but afternoon maybe a little chaotic. Look at the Saturday between 16:30 and 17:25 - 3 PMI's too.

Just working out Jet2 Summer 2018 so far.

There are gaps in the schedule, so maybe a new route or 2? Not checked to see which routes have the A330 or indeed if there are yet 2 A330 loaded....

Do you know when the A330 ops are yet? Looking to book a holiday to TFS and would rather travel on an a330 then a 737/757

Summer 2019 on sale. New route so far; La Rochelle. Various increases throughout the network from MAN.

2nd A330 loaded onto timetable and sale:

2nd A330

And here's the press release:

Our Summer 19 programme from Manchester Airport is now on sale, and holidaymakers are more spoiled for choice than ever next summer!

The addition of 300,000 seats means that a huge 2.8 MILLION seats are going on sale, a 12% capacity increase. To support this expansion, two additional aircraft are coming into operation at Manchester Airport for Summer 19, including a second Airbus A330.

And we’re not finished yet, as even more good news for Summer 19 is coming soon!

We will fly to 46 sun and city destinations in Summer 19, including a NEW ROUTE to the French harbour port of La Rochelle. Holidaymakers can also look forward to more flights and holidays to some of their favourite destinations such as Spain, Portugal, Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Greece and Turkey. The additional flights and holidays are as follows:

  • NEW ROUTE to La Rochelle - The picturesque harbour port of La Rochelle is the newest addition, with weekly Saturday departures commencing on 25th May 2018.
  • Canary Islands – up to 28 weekly services to the Canaries and more seats on sale to each of the islands (Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote). An Airbus A330 will operate on many flights to Lanzarote and Tenerife.
  • Alicante – two services every day, including the introduction of flights on an Airbus A330 aircraft, meaning more seats than ever to the Spanish sunshine
  • Malaga – more services thanks to double services (apart from Wednesdays), meaning 13 flights every week to choose from
  • Faro – more capacity, choice and flexibility with up to three services every day
  • Madeira – the addition of Sunday services means three weekly flights and a capacity increase of 30%
  • Majorca – increased number of services means up to 26 flights during peak periods to the UK’s most popular holiday destination
  • Menorca – larger aircraft means a huge 25% capacity increase
  • Ibiza – up to 14 services every week and more services at the beginning and the end of summer
  • Antalya – capacity growth of more than 20% including the introduction of flights on an Airbus A330 aircraft
  • Dalaman – longer season length and increased frequency means 30% capacity increase, as Turkey continues to experience strong demand
  • Cyprus – addition of a Sunday service means five flights a week to Larnaca, and a new Thursday service means daily services to Paphos
  • Dubrovnik – now five services every week thanks to the addition of Friday flights
  • Barcelona – a new Wednesday service means six flights every week
  • Rome – now a daily service thanks to the addition of Wednesday flights
  • Naples – longer season and larger aircraft means a capacity growth of 16%.

Clearly more is coming ....

I was looking last night at another forum where based aircraft are shown. I knew that Jet2 had a large fleet, however to see 20 listed was quite amazing. I do appreciate that this includes what the railways would refer to as "Thunderbird" (rescue) aircraft.

The rumour-mill has another 2 to be added to that total for next summer.

Hi! New member here! Hope I'm not repeating something that's already been posted. I had an e-mail from Jet2 today advertising their seasonal MAN-EWR. Does anyone know that equipment they are likely to use? 757 or 330?
Cheers

I know business is business and sometimes a little bit of compatition is good but I hope it's not at the expense of Balkan Holidays here. I hope they can both coexist on the Balkan destinations given the number of years Balkan Holidays has been running.

Should be OK. Bulgaria is primarily a budget holiday destination and cheap holidays generally sell well. Also, lots of capacity has been taken out of the Spanish 'Costas' market since the demise of Monarch and the withdrawal of some Vueling and Norwegian services from MAN, so prices have risen sharply on those routes. This helps to displace price-led demand to cheaper destinations such as Bulgaria and Turkey.

Confirmation from the start of season Winter 2018 ACL report:

New route to Antalya continues from S18 and a short series of flights to Vienna and Naples. Split operations continue between T1 & T2.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
