Another swap for Jet2. It seems that G-LSAB is now back at LBA having swapped with G-LSAJ on the Palma routes.
G-LSAB operated the 831 service to Palma from MAN and G-LSAJ operated the 257 service from LBA. G-LSAB will now operate the 258 service back to LBA with G-LSAJ heading back to MAN on the 832 service.

Hope this all makes sense,
Regards.

Jet2 are today using Air Finland Boeing 757-200, OH-AFL. She positioned in earlier this morning as LS42A and has gone onto operate the LS863 service to Murcia.

Also a Manchester based aircraft is due to position over to Leeds/Bradford shortly as LS47A to pick up the dealyed LS271 Alicante passengers seen that LBA based B757-200, G-LSAB is out of position down in Tenerife with crew out off hours.

There was an issue with EXS884 G-CELC Pisa to Manchester, it squawked 7700 on decent into Manchester and circled over Preston and appears to have made a safe landing. Anyone know what the issue was?

Apparently there was a flaps problem. Isn't this the same aircraft that had a similar problem just recently?

Just noticed the Incident Lof thread with a post by Concorde Lover which gives the full SP on this one.

Hope its not at the expense of the Croatian Airlines flight. Quite like seeing something different at MAN.

Also, I take it this fills one of the vacated slots from the BGY flights?

It seems, with this being the 3rd Croation flight for Jet2 from MAN, that they seem to have grasped the market very well. Dubrovnik and Split have obviously proven that there is a very large market for such routes from Manchester, subsequently causing Jet2 their market.

The flights will commence on Saturday 19th May and will operate on a seasonal basis until Saturday 6th October. The flights will be operated by one of Jet2's B733 aircraft.

Jet2 have announced a 2 weekly MAN-IST-MAN FROM 16th March 2012.

I honestly didn't see that one comming!

Well that's a new one!!

It's gradually dawned on me that Jet2.com seem very insistent on operating many more routes to City Destinations from MAN, but no where else..... probably to cover their back's from easyJet and their City Destinations.

They must have found adequate reasoning to fly there, I don't think they would commit a B757 for nothing!

Just some more stats on the new Jet2 IST services:

LS925 MAN 1430 IST 2040 TUE FRI B752
LS926 IST 2130 MAN 2340 TUE FRI B752

Routes served from MAN: 35
Based units: 10
Unit Breakdown: 4 B757 3 B738 3 B733

Compare to Leeds HQ:

Routes served from LBA: 39
Based Units: 10
Unit Breakdown: 3 B757 7 B733

As well as Istanbul, it seems Tel Aviv is due to be increased to 5 weekly. Just picked this up on the airport timetable:

10:00 (T1) 17:15 (T1) Jet2 LS907 31/10/11 - 20/09/12 MTWT Su
18:15 (T3) 22:00 (T3) Jet2 LS908 31/10/11 - 20/09/12 MTWT su

http://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/MANF ... /Schedules

Looks as though MAN airport have got the website timetable wrong. As jet2 only have it operating twice weekly on the website timetable and also in the booking engine still...

Could be an unnanounced upgrade, as I have seen this in the past where around 9th Sept, I saw the same thing as stated starting from 31st Sept, and now October has come it says 31st October start.

It kept doing this when Biman were due back the first time, and it also did something similar when Libyan slots were re-loaded in the system.

I think its something to do with Chroma interface getting ahead of itself.

It seems Jet2 has quietly dropped Brieve from Manchester.

Whether this is due to Ryanair serving Tours is unknown, but, a shame to see a route go none the less.

That's a shame. They do seem to drop them off quietly in hope that nobody notices. I don't know if they base their decision on initial sales or the competition.

Hi

Just found out that Jet2 are to lease a Strategic Airlines, Airbus A320 as a replacement for one off there Manchester based Boeing 757 next summer season.
This is due to the fact that one of Jet2's manchester based 757's will be used as spare aircraft to cover for the whole off the Jet2 fleet. Instead of having to lease in other airlines to cover.

Also Jet2 will have one of the own Boeing 737-300 parked up at Leeds most for of the week this summer which will be are 11 based aircraft back as it will be required in service on some days, But it will mainly be acting as a spare back up aircraft for the whole off the fleet while its not been used.

It looks like they have given in after last summer's on-time performance and technical delays.

Sounds like a good move by Jet2 and fingers crossed the plan works to reduce the amount of disruption we have seen for the past two summers.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
