looks like LS 897 MAN - BUD operated by G-CELC is returning back to Manchester. It reach the tip of Norfolk but has done a 180 turn and looks to be heading back

Also LS 892 from Arrecife has been cancelled. Looking on flight radar, G-LSAD (which operated the outbound flight) is showing as EXS041A and is heading south from Lanzarote at 10,000 ft and looks to be heading towards Tenerife

I have no clue what has happened there. The plane definitely landed and off loaded its passengers didn't it...?!

G-LSAM departed just after G-LSAD and is operating as usual on the 218 back to LBA!

I can confirm that G-LSAD positioned into Tenerife.

I'm wondering if they have combined the MAN/LBA passengers all onto G-LSAM due to the low amount of passengers and have chartered G-LSAD out...?! And then bus the MAN passengers over the hill...? :s_dunno

It looks like Jet2 have dropped their plans for operating Manchester to Istanbul. All references to it on their site have gone and the destination removed from the map and booking engine.

G-LSAD went onto operate Tenerife - Glasgow on Sunday. I don't know what happened but Jet2 don't operate TFS-GLA on Sunday but do on Saturday so i wonder if the aircraft went tech on Saturday

Turkish Airlines increasing its Manchester flights to 10 times weekly, and Air Blue serving Istanbul SAW 3 times weekly have forced Jet2 to drop plans of serving Manchester-Istanbul 2 times weekly.

The only positive in this is that with the above airlines adding their respective flights, MAN has still gained on seats to IST compared to 2011.

Jet2 always seems to be quick to back off routes when other airlines come onto the scene. Really I can't see why they can't co-exist, Jet2 tends to go more for the tourist and city breaks passengers, where as Turkish Airlines & Air Blue will be more likely to attract the Turkish ex-pats.

B757 G-LSAD is on the approach into Manchester at the moment from Norwich as EXS034E.

Does this mean G-LSAD will be in the Jet2 holidays livery

It looks like Jet2 are having problems with 737 G-CELI. On Thurday 22nd March on the approach to Budapest it had a hydraulic leak meaning it had to be towed of the runway. And today it looks as if it has picked up a problem in Rome as G-CELI operated LS 791 but G-CELV is currently operating LS 791A to Rome

G-GDFJ is operating its first flight today from Manchester as LS 891 to Arrecife. It has been sprayed in the Jet2 holidays livery.

Now Jet2 have G-GDFF and G-GDFJ based at Manchester

Thanks again for the update channex 757, it's much appreciated.

I see jet2 are starting to push there flights from Manchester to Tel Aviv on its website and have also dropped there prices over night. I guess this is directly due to Easyjet jumping on the route with them from November.

It wont also help the fact that Easyjet are flying the route on the same days and at around the same timings as Jet2 on Mondays and Thursdays this winter.

Got to love the press release:

''We fly to Tel Aviv up to 3 times a week''

There is literally just 1 week in September where this is the case, so, to say the above is really stretching the imagination!
