The Fort Lauderdale charter was operated by, Boeing 757-200WL G-LSAB. G-LSAC was on standby at Manchester hence after her divert to MAN from LBA on saturday night it was decided that she would stay there for opertional reasons.

G-LSAB is expected to position back into LBA tomorrow afternoon as LS190P direct from Fort Lauderdale.

Has jet2 dropped Gran Canaria for winter 2010/2011 ?? ive been looking but cant see anything just the summer route.

Ryanair will almost certainly operate this route next winter. They do from most if not all of their current UK airports this winter and are continuing into the coming summer from a number.

To be fair the route has never been over popular from LBA and the last time Jet2 operated the route they often used a Boeing 737-300 because they didn't have enough passengers to fill a Boeing 757.

The island has gone through many changes over recent years. I have been there about 4 times and I can honestly say that I have watched the island go down hill. It's main problem is that it's over priced with everything sold at a premium rate. Not an ideal sales pitch when trying to attract a low cost operator. Having said that, I must admit that I haven't been there for around four years so things could have changed since then.

Very little of Jet 2's winter 10/11 programme is on sale. Too early to say IMO

Jet2 are doing MAN - LPA primarily because they were approached by a tour operator looking for capacity on those routes. Jet2 are selling the remaining seats themselves. Therefore the route won't come on sale as part of the Jet2 scheduled release and will only happen for W10/11 if the the tour operator continues with the programme (as is happening with Maderia)

The fruit forum seem to think Jet2.com have actual hold of GSM's ex- B767 units already and plan to operate them from MAN, LBA and NCL to Orlando, Cancun and Goa, commencing S10?

Lets keep an eye on this one...

Don't you think it is a little late for Summer 2010 , unless they are not going to start until July.

I think Orlando would do really well from Leeds. Would a 767 make it non-stop to Cancun from Leeds? , its a bit further than MCO.

Jet2.com launches three new routes from Manchester Airport for summer 2011

Jet2.com launches airports first route to Brive (Dordogne);New routes to Larnaca and Paphos; Increased frequencies on flights to Venice, Pisa, Nice, Palma and Murcia.

Jet2.com, the airline with Friendly low fares, is expanding its operations from Manchester Airport for summer 2011 with the launch of the airport’s - and airline’s - first route to Brive (Dordogne).

The announcement of the new route marks Jet2.com’s 34th destination out of Manchester Airport offering over 1 million seat per year from Manchester and the airline’s 54th destination overall. Offering great access to the Dordogne valley, the route is expected to be a big hit with holiday makers, but also the many expatriates and home owners living in that area of France. Prices will start from just £39.99 one-way, including taxes.

Summer 2011 will also see the launch of two brand new sunshine routes from the airport - Larnaca and Paphos in Cyprus which will be served by both Jet2.com and Jet2holidays. In addition to this, Jet2.com will be adding extra flights to some of the North West’s most popular holiday destinations including Venice, Pisa, Nice, Palma and Murcia, offering people in the region even more flexibility when it comes to their holiday next year.

The flights to Brive will operate twice a week from May to September and will open up the stunning Dordogne region to the North West’s holidaymakers. Sarlat is the region’s most famous town old town full of charming, winding medieval streets and just a few kilometres north of the River Dordogne. The small village of Rocamadour, set on the side of a dramatic cliff, receives more than a million visitors a year as an important pilgrimage destination dating back over 1,000 years which is said to have healing powers. Lez Eyzies, in the UNESCO classified heritage site of the Vezere valley, is a perfect base from which to discover the many prehistoric caves, drawings and attractions which surround it.

Philip Meeson, boss of Jet2.com, said: “We are delighted to be able to introduce the new route of Brive (Dordogne) to Manchester Airport, along with two new routes to Cyprus and extra flights to some of our most popular holiday routes. “The North West has been one of our biggest growth areas in recent years and we have stuck to our commitment of offering flights from Jet2.com and packages through Jet2holidays to a wide range of destinations, some of which are not currently served by any other airline out of Manchester. We are also committed to going that extra mile in the service that we offer, with friendly flight times, meaning that people can get more out of their holiday, a 22kg baggage allowance, allocated seating on all of our flights and a generous loyalty scheme to thank our regular customers.” Flights to Paphos will depart twice weekly throughout the summer, commencing 6th April, with the Larnaca service departing every Saturday from 14th May. Fares start from £69.99 one way including taxes. Great value package deals with Jet2holidays start from £299 per person.

Jet2.com is increasing its Venice service from four to six flights per week, Nice from five to six flights per week and adding additional flights to Majorca on Saturdays and Murcia on Sundays.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
