This is the first tranche of opening routes, so more may be in the pipeline over the months ahead as they aim to grow.

I must say that they’ve really pulled some rabbits out of the hat with that list, but i can only hope that it goes well for them. Dash 8’s or anything similar from LHR doesn’t have a particularly strong track record …

Not least to say 11 of their 12 routes from Belfast (both airports) have competition!

All the best to them…

You do have to question what is going on at CWL though that they couldn’t or havnt yet been able to attract both emerald or Flybe to operate BHD!

Especially when airports like EXT, INV, and ABZ has seen routes from either carrier and even airports such as LBA are seeing up to 5x daily with both carriers competing against one another!

Wizz aside the airport is or has seen little signs of recovery compared to all the other airports who are seeing positive signs of growth all around!

The airport also has hardly been active on social media for a little while now, not positing or prompting much at all, with Wizz launching soon I was thinking they would be heavily promoting that and doing some sort of countdown to create awareness now the launch is fairly imminent! (you watch them prove me wrong now)

I am a keen CWL supporter and I hope this post proves to bite me in the not so distant future but if routes such as BHD doesn’t initially seem viable for 2 new carriers then it doesn’t leave much hope moving forward!

Nobody in the Welsh Government in recent times ever manages to mention CWL, the green brigade have really taken over. Really disappointed news, I really thought we would get something from FlyBE.

LBA to Belfast City was one of the old Flybe’s top routes so I’m not surprised to see this route return with them.

Heathrow was popular with BA to. So hopefully same can be said with Flybe.

I am rather surprised not to have seen BHD-CWL on the list, likewise surprised no BHD-LPL.

Still speculation on the CWL Eastern thread that the airline will not be operating the Belfast City and Valley routes this summer.

If Eastern has given up on CWL-BHD it beggars belief that the new incarnation of Flybe has not picked it up, especially bearing in mind all the routes they have announced at BHD.

Will there really be no air link this summer between the capital cities of Wales and Northern Ireland?

That would be massively disappointing if it did happen. Hopefully it won't or if the route was lost it won't take too long to get it back again.

I's ironic that there are no routes from CWL. yet they are in and out on training flights almost daily, and sometimes several times daily.

Not quite strange as they will go wherever gets them a cheap training deal while getting a decent sector length.

easyjet has been known to perform training at Cardiff and they also don’t operate flights from Cardiff. Similar could be said for the Maleth Aero A340.

To add to the above post. It might also be that they choose to use the quieter airports to do their training duties at.

An example is that Jet2 use Prestwick a lot to do training flights. But they don’t operate passenger flights from there.

FlyBE have received the first of five additional aircraft, being leased from AERGO Capital, to expand their fleet and route plans, let's hope they have CWL in mind for the near future. BHD, JER, and CDG, would be sorely needed additions for the airport, especially if Vueling end the Paris route.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
