Just now (2.25pm) I swear I saw a Boeing 727 fly over LBA at about FL60. It was heading in a SSE direction. Can anyone in the know verify please ? Ta.

Boeing G-OSRB is just on finals at Doncaster(1435) and looking at its routing it was from Teesside and flew directly over LBA

G-ZBAR the Leeds based unit has just positioned from Leeds to Birmingham and both Stobart and Flybe made it in on runway 32 Cat 2 following the BA which did a Cat 3. A good day so far lets hope we do not loose anything.

Don't think I have ever seen a twin otter at LBA, suppose Loganair must have used one before now. Can anyone remember any other instances?

Yes Dan-Air used them on some domestic routes in the 1980s.
They were in Dan-Air colours but owned by I think Metropolitan Airlines.

I remember the Metropolitan shed (Short 330) at Leeds in 1984-85 but I don't know if the Twotters passed through. I certainly remember seeing them at Manchester.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
