Just found out that Monarch Airlines are operating the Leeds Utd charter flights from Leeds-Bradford to/from London Gatwick this Thursday afternoon and late Friday evening using an Airbus A320 aircraft.

Thursday
MON156P ETA 15:05 From London Gatwick
MON9156 ETD 15:50 To London Gatwick

Well presumably they will be back then either late Friday evening after the match v Brighton, or on Saturday. It will nice to see and a forerunner of what is to come very soon. Lets hope Leeds play at Brighton the way they did tonight too!

As i said in me post they are due back into Leeds late friday evening. I understand both the team and the fans are been coached straight from the Brighton ground back to London Gatwick airport for the flight home.

On the departure/arrivals board it showing a Thomson flight from Edinburgh at 14:50 then the monarch flight tomorrowdown to gatwick at 15:50.

Does this mean it'll be a Thomson aircraft operating the football flight tomorrow but on monarchs behalf?

Looking at the London Gatwick airport website they have 2 big delays. One from Lanzarote which was due in this evening & now not due until 13:10 tomorrow afternoon & another from Paphos with an unknown new arrival time.

Therefore, as Monarch operate on behalf of Thomson up at Edinburgh, they must be sending the EDI based MON plane down to LBA. Therefore its still Monarch operating the flight, just travelling down with the Thomson callsigns from EDI...

Just been told told that tomorrows flight could be operated by an Boeing 757.

This could be true. As officially the summer 2012 charter programme finishes thid evening. Monarch have been using an aircraft up at Edinburgh all summer but using Thomson flight codes.

So it could be that she was due to position from Edinburgh tomorrow back to Gatwick empty under TOM code due to end off lease. But due to delays it will now call into Leeds and operate this charter for Monarch.

Well i wonder, Well saying that I wouldn't be surprised if we see some more football related charters coming in from London in a few weeks time seen as both are local teams drew home games in the next round of the League Cup?

Leeds Utd vs Chelsea and Bradford City vs Arsenal.

Now then, now then, now then. Owz about that then!!

Get Wednesday 19th December in your diary for the Leeds v Chelsea match. I would be at all surprised to see one of Roman's corporate jets turn up (767 please!!) not to mention all sorts of biz jets.

Bradford v Arsenal will be either 11/12 or 12/12 I would think.

Ryanair, Boeing 737-800WL, EI-EPE has just positioned in empty as RYR024P from London Stansted. This is to cover due to Leeds based Boeing 737-800WL, EI-EKD having to divert from Corfu to Brindisi in Italy this morning for some unknown reason at this time.

It is highly likely that both Arsenal and Chelsea will fly to LBA for their matches at Bradford and Leeds United. Arsenal flew recently to Norwich, a distance of less than 100 miles and they normally fly out of Stansted or Luton! It would be nice if they chartered something of interest.

I must admit that seeing Leeds United on a Monarch 757 (in lieu of an A320 admittedly) is like a throwback to the days of Mr Ridsdale when we regularly chartered aircraft to carry both the team and fans and in particular Privatair's executive Boeing 757.

For anyone that needed it Monarch sent Airbus A320, G-MRJK into Leeds this morning operating the returning Leeds Utd charter. She arrived from Gatwick at about 01:05 as MON9157 then departed back to Gatwick at 01:45 as MON157P.

Jet2 will be operating quite a few returning Hajj flights over the next few days with 3x Boeing 757's positioning out empty to Saudi Arabia tomorrow from Leeds..

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
