twev not doubting your report in any way but I thought that Wombleton (ex RAF Wombleton) had ceased to be a GA airfield. I last visited it in the mid '70s when I was looking for a flat surfaced area to do some driver training and it was in a pretty poor state even then. My memory tells me that it eventually became a Community Refuse Tip. There are a number (now) of GA fields in that general area. Is it possible that the take off location may have been miscontrued?

I wonder if a300boy has any more recent and relevant information about Wombleton than me?

I might have some information and I am sure "my mate" a300boy would confirm))))

The airfield was revived in 2012 by Swift Aircraft. They are responsible for maintenance oF number of aerobatic aircraft.

As can be seen the place is quite smart))

All the former RAF T-67 Firefly's passed through here before heading to new owners

Thanks all for the update. As I mentioned my comments were based on VERY old info and recollections, It is good to see that time has moved on and that someone has come in and revived the old facility. Good luck to them and that the Slingsby T67 facility seems to be remaining in the local area.

Embraer 145 F-HELA will arrive later today (around tea time) from Perpignan, bringing the Catalan Dragons to play at Headingley against Leeds Rhinos.

Flight VLJ869Y has just passed to the west of Heathrow and looks to be due just after 1600hrs. There must be some nice photo opportunities down the approach.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
