German PC-12 D-FULI inbound diverting from Liverpool due thunderstorms
Easyjet A.320 just called for weather and ask if we are accepting diversions. He is hold for Manchester with heavy thunderstorm activity

The Falcon has landed and now taxied to Multiflight
Its a very large weather front extending right across the uk north west to south east from LPL down to london area!

Easyjet?

I wonder why Leeds wasnt chosen in the end.
Because Airside ops were busy with the emergency bizjet traffic and could not give the Easyjet a decision as to whether they could accept him.
Hence as he was getting near his fuel minima he had to make the choice and go to Newcastle

Understandable but theres always something!

The press strike again, surely a phone call to confirm facts must be in the reporters handbook.

See the reporter has the description of Digital Reporter, is this the job title now for the person who trawls twitter and Facebook for 'news' (other social media and websites are available, some quite accurate in their content.)
Typical garbage from the Wharfedale Observer.
Wrong aircraft reported to have an emergency (the Pilatus from Liverpool being a divert, not an emergency). It was a Falcon executive jet aircraft that was flying from Barcelona to Leeds, with a Maltese registration, and it didn't do any circling at all. Fairly normal approach to runway 14 which I watched on FR24.

I really don't know how these so called reporters get away with it. They are stealing a living.

I spoke to the journalist this morning. She was very nice and said the info that it was the PC12 came from the fire station and it was confirmed by 'the airport'

I don’t know where they’re getting that from as it was definitely the Falcon that had the emergency. The PC12 was simply a diversion from LPL due to weather. It was holding for a bit before landing which my guess would be because it was waiting for the runway to open fully.

Anyways the Falcon is due to depart to Lyon at 12:40

I suspect she is covering her back. I doubt very much that the airport had anything at all to do with that story or that the fire station would provide such information.
The Falcon had the emergency and after landing it sat on the runway 5 minutes whilst being checked by the fire crews, then taxied to Multiflight. If the Pilatus was in the hold having diverted from LPL due to thunderstorms, then it was probably because the Falcon was squawking 7700 and given priority to land, plus the extra 5 minutes after landing whilst it occupied the runway.

She said she will examine the facts and amend the article as required.

She seemed quite genuine and I dont think she would just pluck her fire station source out if thin air although I am doubtful about her claim that 'the airport' confirmed it.

The airport certainly wouldn't have. It doesn't appear to be policy to engage with local rags - especially about minor issues that were over in 5 minutes.
Genuine or not, she's published a load of old tosh.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
