[textarea]easyJet Aberdeen – Gatwick flights selling well; no plans for more Aberdeen flights

A new route linking Aberdeen to Gatwick has been welcomed by passengers, according to easyJet – but the airline has no plans for flights further afield the Press & Journal reports. The company announced plans for a daily service between Aberdeen Airport and Gatwick last month. It is due to start on June 3, and tickets – which will cost from £27.99 – are already selling well.

The budget airline's Scotland manager, Hugh Aitken, said: ‘Sales are pretty much where we would expect them to be. One of the things that distinguishes us is that we take our time to make our decisions. Gatwick is one that we have looked at for a long time.’

The airline has no plans to introduce any other new routes, however, despite the project to extend Aberdeen Airport’s runway by more than 400ft which was given the go-ahead in November.

It's a shame for Aberdeen as they now have no Gatwick link.

The easyJet app is showing that easyJet are to increase flights between Aberdeen and Geneva and also between Aberdeen and London Luton.

Geneva appears to be getting an additional flight on Tuesdays, from 18/12/24-8/1/25 and 05/2/25-26/3/25

Luton appears to be getting an additional flight, also on Tuesdays from 3/12/24-25/2/25

easyJet will launch a new route from Aberdeen this winter, and it is certain to be popular.

Paris will return to the ABZ network for the first time since 2020, with easyJet operating 2x weekly flights to Paris CDG.

Air France previously operated CDG so there is the downside of a lack of connectivity in CDG, but Paris was the most requested destination by passengers to return to the network.

easyJet has added a return flight to Prague in December for Aberdeen fans travelling to their Europa Conference League match against Sparta Praha.

To support it, an additional LTN-ABZ will operate on the day of departure and an additional ABZ-LGW the next day for the return.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
