I noticed after I booked that I have just 1hr, 15min. to land at Newark Terminal B, clear customs / retrieve bags, and get to my connecting flight in Terminal c. Is this even do-able??? anybody have any experience?

Firstly welcome to the forum. Unfortunately I have never used the airport but I am sure there will be somebody on here who has who might be able to answer your question properly. What I would say is that the time you have got does seem on the short side and so doesn't take into account any potential delays you might pick up on your way across. Have you got a flexible ticket?

no - not flexible.
the local UA agents say ;"well, if you miss we'll just put you on next flight"
what if next flight is booked etc....

My son used to regularly transit EWR from the UK with Continental.

He always had to depart from a different terminal from the one he arrived at.

On occasions he did it within about three quarters of an hour of landing from the UK and scheduled departure onwards across the USA. However, this was very tight and depended on the incoming arrival being on time or preferably a bit early (though this sometimes caused a wait for an available stand). Furthermore, he knew EWR very well and knew where to go and how to get there.

Possibly the other thing that helped him was flying business-first which meant he was usually one of the first off the aircraft from the UK.

His onward flights were invariably with Continental as a through booking from the UK, and once or twice he did miss his connection and was put on the next available flight. It was usually to a destination that saw frequent flights throughout the day and he normally landed around 1300-1400 EST so there were plenty of options for the rest of the day.

If you're new to EWR you may find your connecting time tight but if it's a through booking from UK to final destination in the USA then the airline will still get you to your final destination if you miss your planned connection.

How quick or convenient that will be of course depends on availability at the time.

I have flown through EWR before on a Manchester to Miami trip, I arrived in terminal C so didn't need to switch terminals though.
It took around 45mins to an hour to get through Customs, collect bags, and then go through security again, I think! (Can't quite remember, it was 18 months ago). However I was going in on a student visa and had 3 bags with me so they wanted to search through it all and uncover my stashed Cadbury supply!!
If I remember correctly I think once you clear the baggage reclaim bit you drop your bag on the belt for the terminal you are heading to (or maybe Dom or Intl belts) before you go back through security.

Looking at the EWR map here https://www.continental.com/web/en-US/c ... s/ewr.aspx it seems to suggest a 2 minute transit between the terminals so you should be fine!
This link tells you check in processing times - https://www.continental.com/web/en-US/c ... fault.aspx (although it says 1.5-2 hours at Miami, yet it only took me around 20mins!)

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
