YL-LCS - Smartlynx A320 looks to be in full TCX colours with the exception of the engines which are white (the engines are painted the TCX yellow/orange on standard livery TCX aircraft).
Ah thanks for that. Was looking at the pics of it but it didn’t look right but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Must be the white engines. Still a missive improvement on recent years.

Antalya returns today and is on it's way, wonder if it'll get a water canon salute as well?
Also nice to see the return of a Thomas Cook A321 on a regular route.

Do you know the home base of the aircraft?

Really? well i never knew that thanks both for the info
Yeah i believe they pulled out of the Costas quite a while ago, i read something that they may consider going back in the future.

I was only thinking with the ayt flight today what it would take to get a 2nd based tcx airframe & what other airports just have the one seasonal based tail thou that's not to bemoan in any way what we have now

Isn't it Bristol ?
BRS.
It operates BRS-AYT-CWL-AYT-BRS

I had a feeling that was so. Both Mayfly and the BRS website show the aircraft departing BRS for Antalya at 0730 as MT/TCX114 but no return is shown. However, both sites show an MT/TCX713 returning from Izmir at 0205 on Saturday. It must have been pre-planned to have appeared on Mayfly.

I take it the CWL flight went to Antalya. I can only think the return from Izmir was a pre-planned aircraft swap.

Cardiff is the only seasonally base TCX have, BFS is a single aircraft all year operation along with EMA. I would be very shocked if TCX added another aircraft happy but shocked, i just don't think they see CWL as worth it.

Thanks for that jerry ,it was just with the tui growth i wondered if tcx might match that growth or at least some of it

They seem more focused on Bristol. At most i think we can hope is some more W pattern flights and if Flybe launch Spanish routes then TCX use them.

It has been seasonally based for as long as I can remember, was this always the case?

From what I've read on SWAG just now it looks like Thomas Cook last operated in winter in 2010. Not sure if the aircraft was based but an A320 comes up a few times except for Sharm el Sheikh which is a 757 200.

CWL started off with Inter European airlines. They were CWL based and a extension of Aspro travel agents also CWL based. They sold the airline to a Manchester based airline (name escapes me). They sold out to the TC group that at the time was buying any thing it could get hands on.They had a MD83 CWL based. They then changed based airframe to a A320 which if my memory they positioned in to do a few routes in the winter time.TC with history with CWL airport never used the potential at CWL,they focussed their efforts on BRS which to this day remains.
I wish I could remember a few more details on this matter. No doubt Local yokel coud fill in a few gaps that I have.

Hasn’t a few operators become Thomas Cook? Airtours into MyTravel then Thomas Cook and also Flying Colours into JMC air into Thomas Cook also.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
