I notice Easyjet seem generally more prone to cancellations than many other airlines. Is that the case?

Also not local weather related, but I notice the TUI flight from Boa Vista - BHX has diverted into TFS. Medical emergency perhaps?

would imagine the TUI from Boa Vista to Tenerife was a fuel stop

lots of holding at Gatwick, a few Easyjets have diverted to Paris CDG, and an Easyjet Antalya to Manchester, looks to be diverting to Lyon!

One flight from Manchester to Dublin ended up at BVA a flight from Either Tenerife-South or Seville to Edinburgh ended up in Germany, a flight from Somewhere to Dublin again ended up in Paris this one at CDG BHX got lucky in that regards that none of our passengers ended up in Europe.

Eurowings from Dusseldorf did return to Dusseldorf, having aborted on short finals to 15. Presumably their landing limits are tighter than some airlines.

Eurowings from Dusseldorf did return to Dusseldorf, having aborted on short finals to 15. Presumably their landing limits are tighter than some airlines.

As well as Eurowings BHX..I noted five Vuelings also unable to get into LGW due wind diverted into Paris.

I wonder at what stage, if at all, airport ATC get involved calling conditions too dangerous for planes to attempt landing .Or is it all down to the airlines and pilots to call it too dangerous ?

I believe it is down to the individual airlines and their limits. The same happens in fog situations to a degree.
It was certainly quite a unique experience on Sunday to see flights heading all over the place for sanctuary.
BHX faired quite well considering a slight crosswind.

Heathrow was quite staggering, and only 2 planes diverted away ,despite cross winds up to 55 mph ! Above most airlines limits which I think are 42-50mph ?
I suppose having a much longer runway than any other UK civil airport helps them massively.
Good BHX only lost 1, but wind was down not across the runway which helped.
Most airliners are now Cat 3B autoload ,seemingly standard now in all modern jet airliners.With zero decision height and 075M RVR.
Fog is rarely an issued now for modern airliners as long as the crew are fully trained and eqpt fully working .Great for passengers bad for aviation enthusiasts.

I don't understand what 'Up the go Arounds' means, but HOP E190 (F-HBLI, AF1564), appears to be turning back for a R15 approach, following a missed approach for R33.

Meanwhile, Lufthansa Cargo A321 (D-AEUA, LH8352) looks to be going direct to DUB, following a missed approach to R33.

What was the wind direction at BHX? because it can be quite interesting, I thought LHR was mainly down the runway but quite turbulent and MAN was good mainly 230 so helped aircraft stop very quickly and no turbulence

Must be close to the perfect crosswind, as an Easyjet for EDI took off whilst the 2 Imex and a Ryanair landed in the opposite direction, either side of the Easyjet

Wizz Air A321-NEO (HA-LZR, W43015, OTP - LBA) diverted in, landing at approx 09:30. Due to depart to LBA at 10:14, but weather not looking good at LBA.

A few cancellations today with Eurowings gone, Lufthansa two cancelled and KLM one also cancelled.

Jet2 have only three departures with nine aircraft parked up +two still with STS.
TUI have only four departures all long/medium haul with 787s doing Cancun and Singapore with the Max doing Sharm -el- Sheikh and Boa Vista, all chasing the sun
