Relax.

In the last 30 days, the average delay has been 7 minutes, with 40% of flights arriving early and another 40% arriving within 30 minutes of schedule. Hardly "typical Dubai".

Delays happen. It's currently scheduled to depart BHX at 21:30 (a delay of 40 minutes giving 1:30 to turn the aircraft around). With average flight times, it'll probably only get to Dubai 10-15 minutes late.

Tonight’s emirates is delayed yet again.
Typical Dubai 🙄

all airlines/flights get delayed Anthony, and you don't know the reason behind it, so you can't blame Dubai airport. It might be a late passenger, road traffic delays around the airport, ATC slot delays in Europe, bad weather, the previous flight might have been delayed so late inbound aircraft etc.., you can't blame it on an airport, when you don't know the reason for the delay. Don't let it worry you, and just enjoy the weird world of aviation!! :ROFLMAO:

It left the gate and taxied then it returned to another gate where it was delayed for a while. Could have been a sick passenger, could have been a minor technical fault.

I’ve been sat on the taxiway 50 mins one time still landed back on time at BHX.

Don’t understand what issue that causes to someone who isn’t on the flight unless your picking someone up

Emirates Airbus A380 A6-EEY EK29 over Bletchley diverting to Birmingham having given up trying to get into Heathrow
Airfield movements were stopped for a few minutes while an emergency flight came in (an executive-type jet) , then a bit later the same thing happened again - and I was amazed to see an a380 looming through the murk. The low fuel obviously explains the emergency.

I can't see any sign of it having departed BHX yet, according to FR24. It is showing as it's service back from LHR as EK30 is cancelled. One thing I don't like about FR24, is that it will show on the original destination if a flight has diverted, but it doesn't show on the arrivals at the airport it has diverted to.

I would imagine it will depart tomorrow morning empty back to Dubai, or possibly Heathrow.

A6-EVE and A6-EEY will both be heading to Dubai tomorrow. Both have stayed at the diverted airport as it’s a rule that emirates actually has, compared to other airlines who go back to the airport that they diverted from.

I take it the passengers were bused to LHR. That's a lot of buses.

Looking at FR24, it appears that there are several Lufthansa cancellations over the next couple of days (including Eurowings). MAN also seems to have cancellations. Looking at FRA arrivals on FR24, it seems the only other cancellations are German internal services. Anyone know why?
Possibly down to the strike they had a few weeks ago?. I don't think it was resolved. They are also going through staff shortages.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
