It's been chaos at man today just heard on sky news that people have been sat on a jet2 plane since 9.30 unable to get off!

Many diversions at LHR but only one went to BHX, Lufthansa A321 D-AISD.

SAS have cancelled their flight tonight.

There have been a few cancellations today due to the strike. Norwegian to Barcelona, Flybe to Lyon, Ryanair to Alicante and an Easyjet to Geneva. There may be others.

Walked through the airport earlier and there were some long queues at the ticket desks with some very angry faces.

With the PIA delayed arrival, AP-BGK is on the ground with the A380, and they should be joined in the next two hours by the Emirates 777 and Air India 787, making for a very interesting view along the International Pier...

2x 787's, 2x 772's, 3x 77W's and an A380. Not a bad day for BHX :)

Don't know about that. I made myself redundant last year and runway inspection sounds like my kind of job!

Sounds an alright job doesn't it? Until you have to pick up what's left of a bird that's been through an engine :dead:

Norwegian 738 EI FHN from Tenerife has been holding due to an engine issue, it's just landed safely. A few others were also holding but they look to be breaking off now.

Several aircraft are currently holding.

Air India did a few circuits then headed north, it got as far as the Peak District and has now turned back.

Interestingly Ryanair 1 is currently holding.

Is that a Learjet? Apparently Michael O'Leary visited LBA the other day, so maybe he's visiting BHX or Birmingham for some reason, probably just a PR exercise but hopefully something more...if so he's getting a nice welcome!!

Yeah it's the Learjet.

Looks as though everything got in, just an Easyjet A320 from Grenoble held over Northampton the went to Stansted.

Norwegian have cancelled the Barcelona flight on its first day of Sunday operations. No idea why as it seems there isn't any disruption at BCN.

I looked at the Norwegian website last night and the 27th was blank for Barcelona. I'm assuming that it was never planned to operate but had already been loaded into the system?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
