Just in time for the busy summer season – and after thousands of customers have already booked airport parking for their summer holiday – East Midlands Airport has renamed the following car parks:-

Car Park 6 is now called Long Stay 6 – Shuttle Plus

Car Park 7 is now called Long Stay 7 – Shuttle Economy 1

Why do airports do this – make changes just before the summer peak? Could it not wait until the autumn? It is bound to confuse thousands of passengers unnecessarily during what is already a stressful journey.

at least they haven't changed the numbers of the car parks. That would be really confusing. If they haven't bumped up the parking charges then that's a small consolation

Ive noticed the off airport parking (Formally Pink Elephant Parking) at Castle Donington race course has closed. Does anyone know why?

Plans for 1,550 long-stay car parking spaces at East Midlands Airport

Proposals for a new long-stay car park for passengers at East Midlands Airport have been submitted to North West Leicestershire District Council.

It seems to me that MAG are doing their very best to discourage passengers at this local airport. Ease of access is almost nil both for departing and arriving customers. Parking is a joke without the funny bit. I as a disabled driver have to arrange for a taxi to meet my sister instead of being able to pick her up myself something that I would love to do.
MAG just be honest you want it to be a 100% freight hub.

Can't agree with Shepshed. We abandoned the BHX for EMA this year for our 3 2019 trips and found parking no problem - certainly better than BHX. In particular, the 'Meet & Greet' (they dont actually meet you but thats just semantics) is very close to the terminal, no hassle inwards or outwards, and great price.

Long gone are the days of free pick-up and drop-off at any airport terminal. A combination of the Glasgow airport attack and the need to increase revenue streams.

I understand why airports charge for parking but it is frustrating for passengers, especially those who are unfamiliar with the layout and rules.

I do respect that disabled users should have to pay like everyone else but it may take passengers requiring extra assistance a little extra time to alight because of there disability. Does EMA offer any sort of concession?
