The American airline Allegiant Air is to start charging passengers for carry-on hand baggage - prepaid on line 10 USD, paid at airport 35 USD.
Airlines are now realising that passengers are becoming more adept at avoiding checked-baggage charges so are turning to other revenue streams.
If Allegiant goes ahead with this and there is not a severe passenger reaction against it then a pound to a penny it will become widespread across the industry in no time at all; guess who will be looking at this with great enthusiasm.
