Have to wonder where these aircraft will be parked if they stay at the airport to operate the return fights, although the ones that come in before the Saturday will doubtless go back from whence they came. That will still leave some interesting logistical arrangements on the day or two after the match though.
I'm guessing many will fly in and then fly out empty again as neither BRS or CWL could hold a large amount of parked aircraft during that weekend as every stand will be needed. Maybe they'll go to places like LPL or BHX or MAN or even NQY or EXT.

Sorry to start a new thread but didnt want to take over the Vueling one someone else had made, does anyone have any further information on which airlines and times will be arriving at BRS for the champions league final, we have heard Vueling are coming but also Air Europa but cannot find any information on this anywhere, does anyone have any information?

As some of you may know I run the Bristol Airport Spotting website and community and would like to keep everyone updated, including myself, on movements. Feel free to PM me if you dont want to post publically.

I have setup an article on the website crediting the original poster on here - http://www.bristolairportspotting.c...real-madrid-fans-champions-league-final-2017/

In addition to Vueling & Air Europa, there will be flights by Air Nostrum, Iberia, Iberia Express, Privilege Style & SATA Azores. Maybe a few more to come.

Does any one know if lynham airfield is used now seeing the army took over lynham.Just a thought for parking aircrafts as lots of parking there.

Aircraft will go to Kemble and Gloucester in addition to Birmingham and Exeter. Lyneham is not viable as no ATC or FISO. Huge amount of planning to manage this event with BRS likely to experience busiest 48 hours ever.

When is the mayfly for the UEFA week due tobe released?

I am presuming that the night skies will be lit with aircraft landing and taking off.

Sunday focus will be on departures. So most flights arriving from Spain into BRS on sun 4thwill be empty to take passengers out. Heard a rumour that after the match bus loads will be arriving all night from Cardiff to catch flights back to spain from midnight onwards.

Off the wall thinking - could St Athan be used? purely for parking aircraft, no pax movements

Maleth Aviation B733 9H-MTF operating for BMI Regional this afternoon on their delayed CDG flight.

What was the reason BMI leased a 737 for a paris flight? They couldnt have so many passengers stranded, but the way they have been cancelling flights these days.....wonder if anyone trusts them anymore.

ABZ rotation cancelled this morning. bmir seem to be having aircraft availability problems. The PSO Derry-Stansted route has seen an E170 and an ATR from other airlines standing in for the usual bmir aircraft in recent days. Perhaps the 737 was all they could get at short notice.

Busiest periods

It's been very quiet of late re BRS news. Doesn't mean that the airport is stagnating though. Still at least 100 departures and the same number of arrivals most days, a few more on some days, and that's not counting the Airbus and BAE corporate shuttles to Toulouse/Hawarden and to Walney Island respectively or biz jets.

The busiest period for departures is between 0600-0800 each day with around 30 airline departures. Arrivals are at their busiest late evening into the early hours when the (around) 30 based and overnighting aircraft come in.

Perhaps most aircraft watchers (I avoid the word spotters whenever possible) prefer more agreeable hours in which case the busiest times are Friday, Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes.

On Fridays there are 25 arrivals between 1120 and 1320 and 22 departures between 1210 and 1400

On Saturdays there 23 arrivals between 1105 and 1310

On Sundays there are 23 arrivals between 1120 and 1325 and 22 departures
between 1200 and 1410

Other days are not much less busy during lunchtime but the above days are the busiest.

Late afternoon into early evening on all days is another peak period for arrivals and departures.

Acknowledgement to Bristol Airport Mayfly which is now published via the Bristol Airport Spotting website for the above details.

KLM Boeing 737-700 on its way in from Amsterdam on the normal late afternoon schedule ( slightly earlier than usual ). I wonder which stand it would use and whether there is any intention to use them more in the future

Mayfly shows KL 1053/54 (the late afternoon arrival/departure that you mention) as a B 737 today. Unfortunately, next week's Mayfly is not yet published on the Bristol Airport Spotting website but a check with the KLM booking engine shows KL 1053/1054 back to an E190 next Sunday.

Today, as yesterday, there was an additional (fifth) rotation with the extra one operated by an E175 instead of the usual E190. That was in connection with the European Champions League Final. It can only be speculated that today's 737 was also football-related. I believe that CWL had some 737s over the weekend because of the football.

I think CWL had 3 737s from KLM over the weekend.
Why can't KLM just use it's regular stand? Is it to small for a 737?

Did I see a Catalina flying boat heading for BRS just after 3 this afternoon? Parking up in connection with the Weston Air Show this weekend?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
