Another Easy jet A319 G-EZIM departed Bristol for Luton this morning.

Anyone see the A400M Atlas in the area yesterday afternoon .Quite low altitude and did quite a few circuits. My brother who lives in Hewish directly under the flight path to the East of the runway was convinced there were four of them.I had to gently explain it was the same one doing circuits. Think he might have had too much wine with his barbecue.

I saw the A400M two or three times yesterday during the late afternoon over the edge of south-east Bristol. On one of the occasions I was having a 'long distance' chat with an acquaintance on the pavement near where I live whilst out for my daily exercise and he said, "Look there's a Bae 146. You don't see many of those about now". I thought it would have been ungracious to put him right.

Well,my powers of aircraft identification aren't as good as they used to be but I'd like to think I could spot the difference between a jet engined bae 146 and a prop A400m atlas.Having said that, back when the old terminal building had a spectator balcony overlooking the apron.I can remember seeing what I thought was a Lockhead tristar being very carefully marshalled towards the taxiway leading to the runway threshold.Ive got a feeling it was a replacement for two Paramount MD83s that had gone technical.I told any who was interested that it definitely was a Tristar Only later did I find out it was DC10. Or was it the other way round.

Easy jet G-uzmc A321 departed this afternoon on it's way to Gatwick
Was at the back of the airport this morning (I'm an alarm engineer coming back from an emergency call,in case your wondering why I wasn't observing lockdown).would appear that as well as the departed Easy jets, one of the Enter air 737 has left.

Enter Air B 737 SP-ENG just departed Bristol for Romania.
We were having an early light lunch and my wife said, "I can hear another plane flying". I said, "It's probably another easyJet off to Gatwick". Obviously not, so thanks for that.

I wonder if it's gone to Romania to bring back more fruit pickers.

It's strange isn't it T.L.Y.At one time even being interested in the comings and goings at Bristol Airport,I certainly tended not to take to much notice of the normal departures/arrivals unless it was something unusual. Now,hearing and seeing a jet coming into view after clearing Dundry immediately makes me try to identify was it is and where its going to/coming from.

Must be almost like the early 1900s when people would stare in amazement on those very rare occasions when one of the rudimentary early aircraft flew overhead.

I've spent a fascinating 30 minutes or so watching an A400M doing circuits over BRS. The aircraft has been using runway 09 for its approaches and after each one has flown a right hand circuit with the down wind leg over the Mendips. From the first floor wndow of what I euphemistically call my office situated seven miles east of the airport about a mile north of the approach for 27 I had a grandstand view of the A400M as it turned right on to its crosswind leg each time.

There was nothing on FR24 but Planefinder shows the A400M leaving Brize Norton to fly circuits at NQY before flying to BRS where it did a similar thing there (four circuits in total at BRS).

After the fourth approach and circuit about 25 minutes ago it turned left over my house to head back to Brize Norton where it's now completed two approaches and is beginning its second circuit.

Heads up.

Aegean Airlines flight arriving on Friday at 10:55

First time I think for that airline.
Aegean Airlines operated a weekly charter flight to BRS from Santorini for a tour operator in the summer of 2005. From memory they used a Boeing 737-400.

A repeat performance at the moment. A 400M from Brize Norton went to NQY for circuits and is now doing the same at BRS.

Is it touching down and climbing. Can they land on the runway. Too small for this type of aircraft ?

Looking at the internet, A400Ms have carrying out touch and go manoeuvres at a number of UK airports in recent days although BRS is not specifically mentioned. It was difficult to determine from Planefinder. I think the lowest height shown was 700 feet which I presume is the height above the runway rather than above sea level, but it might have gone lower for touch and go and not been captured on Planefinder.

The Bristol Airport Monitoring Report for 2018 (2019 not yet published) lists all aircraft types that used the airport in 2018 and the A400M is on the list.

A Lockheed C130 Hercules seems to be currently doing touch and go manoeuvres at BRS. Planefinder shows it down to 0 feet when passing BRS. The aircraft left Brize Norton earlier this morning and flew to south Devon but its track doesn't show that it operated circuits at EXT. It then flew overhead Exmoor to the Bristol Channel before commencing circuits, both right-hand and left-hand, and approaches to runway 09 at BRS.

After 5-6 circuits it's now leaving the area apparently returning to Brize Norton.

There was a time when the C130s were based at RAF Lyneham in Wiltshire that they were a common sight practising approaches at BRS as were Sea King helicopters from RNAS Yeovilton in Somerset in those days.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
