Air Nostrum YW5175 arrived at 1622 hours this afternoon from Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne Airport in France. It is due to return at 1800 tomorrow.

No doubt it is the team bus for the Heineken Rugby Champions Cup match tomorrow at Ashton Gate between Bristol Bears and Clermont Auvergne.

Nothing on FR24 and the BRS arrivals/departures pages don't provide aircraft type information. Air Nostrum seems to have ATR-72-600 and CRJ 200, 900 and 1000 aircraft in its fleet.

I discovered that Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne Airport has a 3,000-metre runway even though it handled only 430,000 passengers in 2018. I reckon that BRS would give them another 430,000 in exchange for that runway.

While out and about this morning I thought that I saw a bacf em190 on finals. Not sure if my eye sight is going or did it actually happen. No way of checking at the time

Following the lockdown in November and very early December when the number of daily rotations reduced considerably, especially in the second part of November, the first two weeks of the tier system from 2 December have seen more flights than occurred in the lockdown but not that many, typically between 3/4 and 12 departures per day with an equal number of arrivals. This week has seen a gradual rise with today seeing the most departures since October, with 35 scheduled, viz:

easyJet (22): Malaga, Krakow, Geneva, Alicante, Amsterdam, Faro, Belfast International (x 2), Edinburgh (x 2), Basel, Inverness, Rome Fiumicino, Tenerife South, Prague, Newcastle, Glasgow (x 2), Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin Brandenburg, Paris Cdg

Ryanair (10):
Krakow (x 2), Rzeszow, Kaunas, Alicante, Las Palmas, Malaga, Dublin, Gdansk, Bergamo

Blue Islands (1):
Jersey

KLM (1):
Amsterdam

Wizz Air (1):
Katowice

Total 35

There should also have been a Ryanair flight to La Rochelle re the Heineken European Rugby Cup match between La Rochelle and Bath but the match was called off because of Covid infections amongst some of the players.

I'm not sure why Ryanair scheduled two departures to Krakow - one at 0630 and the other at 0730, with easyJet also operating to Krakow at 0700.
When I looked yesterday the seat selectors were showing respectively 120 and 141 seats occupied on the Ryanair flights and 82 on easyJet.

Rugby Charters

CityJet WX9364 arrived BRS from Belfast International at 1528 hours today, presumably a CRJ900. Nothing shown on FR24. It's no doubt in connection with tomorrow's Heineken Rugby Champions Cup match Gloucester v Ulster. It's due to return to BFS at 2015 tomorrow.

Shown for tomorrow is a Ryanair flight to Shannon at 1400 hours which is probably for the Bristol Bears party for their away match against Connacht in the same competition on Sunday afternoon, with the return flight doubtless scheduled for later that day.

There have been a number of Ryanair rugby charter flights this season, particularly from CWL. Ryanair was due to fly the Bath Rugby Club to La Rochelle from BRS today for their Heineken Cup match there but the game was called off because of Covid infections amongst some of the players.

A nice range of routes today (saturday). Most of the routes today are flown by vEasyjet with Ryanair second with KLM with 1 rotation and likewise TUI with 1 rotation. 33 flights are due to be operated today. The biggest destination to lose most flights is GVA,they have 1 rotation today and in normal times they been doing 5 flights on a saturday.

25 inbound International flights today. Is that the highest per day for since the March lockdown?

Read post 633 and there was 33 flights flown so all in all 66 flights out and in on saturday just gone.
Netherlands has stopped all flights from the UK from midnight.

No. In August and part of September each day was seeing between 40 and 50 odd departures and the same number of arrivals, mainly international flights. The highest number I found was on 6 September with 54 departures, 46 of which were international flights, with the same number inbound.

Tuesday 22 December 2020

17 departures shown today - 15 easyJet and 2 Ryanair. 6 were cancelled including both Ryanair
18 arrivals shown today -16 easyJet and 2 Ryanair. 3 were cancelled including both Ryanair

Saturday 26 December 2020

27 departures shown today according to the BRS website four of which four were cancelled, with 27 arrivals of which four were cancelled. Mainly easyJet (18 departures), and I notice that KLM is still operating, both today and tomorrow according to the BRS website arrivals/departure pages.

I looked at the arr/dep boards earlier and the KLM was final call for boarding. So with that i would say it operated. I never noticed if it was a 737 aircraft.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
