OK - Mr Burkle seems very interested in the arts .......................some article suggest interest in Banksy .......its Dismal weather today!!
Mr Burkle has flown the Atlantic to visit The Pool as it was known in my day? None of this tropical stuff then - not with Modern Venus every summer and Diana Dors winning one year, if anyone remembers her.

Did he have anyone interesting with him? Not that a fairly reclusive American billionaire is not interesting. :coco:

This is not the first time Mr Big from a famous search engine company came to BRS for a few hours. He did that or someone else from his search engine company did the same a few months ago.

757s both times. Plane was too big to turn left to go to BFC. So parked in main terminal.

Aurigny ATR42 G-HUET just departed from Bristol, it's the first time I've ever seen this aircraft.

Ireland v France, World Cup Rugby, Millennium Stadium, Sunday 11 October 2015

With CWL expecting a huge influx of flights for this match, BRS as is usual with big games involving France and Ireland or French and Irish club teams at the Millennium will also reap a dividend.

Looking at next week's Mayfly the following additional flights are shown with the inbounds listed below.

Saturday 10 October

Volotea B 717 from Toulouse via Cdg

Sunday 11 October

Europe Airpost B733 from Cdg (x 2)
Avanti F 100 from Cdg
Additional bmi regional E 45 from Cdg
Air Dolomiti E 195 from Lyon
ASL Airlines B 733 from Dublin
SmartLynx A 320 from Dublin
Transavia B 738 from Dublin
CityJet ARJ 85 from Dublin
Additional Ryanair from Dublin*

* Mayfly is showing a B 734 but so far as I know Ryanair hasn't any of this type

I hope that the previously named First Great Western that now has the absolute cheek to call itself Great Western Railway (that such a shower should grab itself this iconic name of a company to which the modern upstarts could not hold a candle) has sorted itself out after the mayhem with earlier games at the Millennium in this year's Rugby World Cup where thousands of people were left queuing at Bristol Parkway and Cardiff Central railway stations because the railway company had completely underestimated the demand.

Ireland v France, World Cup Rugby, Millennium Stadium, Sunday 11 October 2015

Further to my previous post, Mayfly now shows the Volotea B 717 that was originally a joint TLS/CDG on Saturday 10 October now two separate flights on that day, one from TLS and the other from CDG, both B 717.

There is also an additional flight on Sunday 11 October by HOP using an E 45.

So far then this will give 13 flights into BRS for this match.

BRS and Filton are both on the list of the Vulcan's farewell tour this Sunday.

Amongst the places being visited on this route:
RAF Waddington, Rutland Water, North Weald Airfield, Gravesend, Herne Bay, Manston, Dover, Ashford, Dunsfold, Farnborough, Middle Wallop, Old Sarum, Bristol Airport*, Filton, Cardiff Airport*, St. Athan, Staverton Glos Airport, RAF Brize Norton*, Wellesbourne, Bruntingthorpe and Newark.

I imagine it's very much subject to change/delay etc.

I am in the airport on Sunday afternoon. Will take my camera. Hope she lands and taxies although I doubt it.

Also looks like Aer Lingus are laying on extra A320 flights as well over the weekend for extra capacity! So photographers, take 3 hot flasks, lunch and dinner!!! Also a VERY comfy chair at the 09 end!

HOP! CRJ700 F-GRZD with the callsign HOP9060 looks to be landing at either Bristol or Cardiff. I'm not sure which yet.

It's for CWL - one of numerous flights of today and yesterday from France and Ireland in connection with this afternoon's Rugby World Cup match at Cardiff between Ireland and France. An Air Hop E145 went into BRS an hour ago re the same match - one of about a dozen additional flights there today for the rugby.

I'm in the process of doing a summary of all the extra rugby flights into CWL this weekend which I'll post in the CWL forum.

it really was a beautiful sight. The bomber came from Bath direction flew over the airport and turned in a beautiful loop to fly over the runway towards the A38. It looped over the Felton common came back over the A38 to head towards the Filton airport over Bristol City.

Hope some of you managed to see it in town.

The engines were not as loud as i expected. the mottled clouds and the hidden sun was perfect.

have a video too, not sure how to load it up here.

Did this come to fruition in the end?

Nothing shown on today's Mayfly nor on the BRS website arrivals page.

Nor did I see anything but the usual 13.30 and 17.30 flights on the departure board in Dublin earlier today, for what it's worth. The 13.30 flight was full though (ATR-72).

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
