Lots of Turkish activity........

at 1740 ish

And on the Southside................which suggests some sort of business or corporate aircraft.

The optimists would suggest, or at least hope, that it would have something to do with Turkish Airlines, but on a Friday evening?

Unless there is some function or other taking place this weekend in the Bristol area that involves Turkey in some way. An advanced campaign group to try to rustle up some support for Turkey's attempts to join the EU?

it could be a plane load of migrants lol. thats why south side. not so many eyes over that side.

Falcon 2000, Canadair CL60 & Hawker 25B all on the Southside. BBJ & Global 5000 arriving later this evening.

Thank you. Is there a Turkish connection here?

The CL60, H25B, and GL5T are all Turkish registered and all arrived from Ankara this evening within and hour of each other - they are definitely related to each other, so anyone know what brings them here...?
The BBJ is a VVIP aircraft owned by a Maltese charter company which came in from the Middle East via Luton.

All of the arrivals are from Turkish airports apart from the BBJ. There appeared to be a large reception waiting for the inbound passengers.

The Global 5000 hasn't arrived as yet.

I was kind of hoping that this was gonna be the day when we finally get Turkish airlines flying from Brs. Never mind

Intergovernmental diplomatic meetings, very high level. Nothing to do with Bristol airport or partnerships with Turkish airlines.

A VLM F50 is operating today from/to Antwerp (in at 1305, out at 1335).

I wonder if that is in any way operating for Brussels Airlines as the bmi regional (for Brussels Airlines) 3 x daily has not operated to BRU since the terrorists acts there.

There was another VLM rotation from/to Antwerp late this afternoon.

im fairly sure these 2 vlm flights were due to go to cwl,and im sure rugby related.if they were due to cwl it makes me wonder why they ended up in brs.

I'm not aware of any rugby club games in Wales in the past few days that would relate. Belgium isn't a big rugby-playing country either. It could have been a local Belgian club or college team paying a visit I suppose.

I appreciate that compared with the loss of life and injuries the terrorists cause this is a minor consideration, but it is a shame that the BRU route has been affected in this way as it has been building steadily over recent years. I don't know if some people are now using AMS for example.

Addendum 1320 Sunday 10 April 2016

BRS website showing SN2058 which departs at 1730 as 'self-service-checkin', instead of cancelled as has been the case with all these BRU flights since the terrorist attacks.

According to a local spotting site Jet 2 B 737-800, G-GDFJ, diverted into BRS on Wednesday morning. It was due to land at CWL but could not because of fog. I don't know which service this aircraft was operating to CWL as the spotting site did not mention it. I checked previous CWL arrivals on FR24 but no Jet2 aircraft was shown.

A KLM Cityhopper E 190 also diverted into BRS from CWL on Wednesday morning according to FR24 and the spotting site.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
