There's a new iPhone app out called 'Airport Scanner', it's a game where you have to identify prohibited items on an x-ray machine. Failure to stop them leads to a security breach! You are marked for speed to ensure passengers are checked in time for their aircraft departure.

I'm told the images used offer a striking resemblance to the real thing. So if you want to experience what it's like to work as an Aviation Security Officer or TSA guard try it out.

At the moment the app is only available on iPhone.

Infinite Flight Review

I found an app called 'Infinite Flight'. It's a paid app and costs £3.22 to purchase. I am always reluctant to purchase apps for my phone because more often than not they're a waste of money and not worth what you pay but having read numerous reviews about it, I decided for £3.22 it would be worth downloading to see what it's like. I have to admit for a phone app, I'm impressed at what it can do. The graphics on my Samsung Galaxy S2 phone are superb and the apps playback offers various views showing full detail of all the moving parts such as flaps, wheels, thrust reverser's and cockpit instruments. The app has a number of aircraft types and regions to choose from which are free. Further aircraft types and regions are purchasable.

Overall I'm impressed with Infinite Flite. The additional cost of purchasing additional aircraft and regions are on the steep side but the app offer sufficient choice without the need to purchase these.

Have a look at this and see what you make of it?

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
