OK, so BM have obviously modified their schedule according to the demand they perceive - fair enough. I guess the net effect in terms of number of rotations ex BRS is broadly flat, but CDG's gain is MXP's loss.
The comments from Nigel Scott could be interpreted as BM having brokered at least an interlining agreement with AF, if not a full-blown codeshare - is that the case? If not, I think his comments are rather misleading, as 'Joe Public' passengers may not realise that in order to connect to (e.g.) a long haul flight with checked luggage they will need to retrieve it and essentially check in again.
Given that BM already serves three LH Group hubs ex BRS, I can imagine that such comments would not be well received in Germany!
