OK, so BM have obviously modified their schedule according to the demand they perceive - fair enough. I guess the net effect in terms of number of rotations ex BRS is broadly flat, but CDG's gain is MXP's loss.

The comments from Nigel Scott could be interpreted as BM having brokered at least an interlining agreement with AF, if not a full-blown codeshare - is that the case? If not, I think his comments are rather misleading, as 'Joe Public' passengers may not realise that in order to connect to (e.g.) a long haul flight with checked luggage they will need to retrieve it and essentially check in again.

Given that BM already serves three LH Group hubs ex BRS, I can imagine that such comments would not be well received in Germany!

I suspect the second sentence of your second paragraph is correct. Any AF agreement or code share would surely have been trumpeted alongside today's announcement.

Nigel Scott is not being untruthful; he is, however, putting one slant on the situation (assuming no code share etc). One of my credos in life has been to always see what is not said in any situation as well as what is. The former is often more enlightening.

With no rotations cancelled from BRS today Thursday 15th march. They must have a spare aircraft in BRS as they been doing circuit training in CWL.
This is good that nothing cancelled today and lets hope it carries on the same, as I think they have to get some good will back with the amount of rotations cancelled not only out of BRS but other airports in the UK as well.

They need crew. They seem to be running their schedule to tight and maybe they also need to decide what is their priority? Their ACMI work or their scheduled services work? Because for an airline that seems to be cancelling services they are doing work for other airlines like Eastern and doing sports charters as well.

Sports charters perhaps not quite so bad as they are at weekends mainly when the BM scheduled programme is less busy, although even this takes up crew hours that might become a problem later in the year.

Is there a dearth of pilots at the moment? A few years ago there seemed to be many out of work.

I'm not sure, airlines are expanding quite a lot and don't seem to have problems recruiting, maybe for an airline like BMI who don't use common equipment like the 737 or A320 it might be a bit harder to get pilots?

You spoke too soon. :jawdrop:

According to the BRS arrivals page the last Frankfurt inbound of the day, BM1828 due BRS at 2045, has been cancelled.

The outbound leg, BM1827 scheduled departure from BRS at 1635, operated - per the BRS departures page.

With BMI constantly cancelling flights could in the long run this effect their partnerships with Lufthansa and Brussels Airlines? As they must not be happy at the cancellations.

You would think it might and you would think that BM would think that it might.

I believe that our member tpm uses BM from BRS a lot. His views on this would be informative and I'm sure of interest.

Don't think I use them enough to call it "a lot", certainly not compared to all the real frequent flyers on this forum. Never had any problems with bmi regional so far, only some HAM->BRS cancellations between Christmas and New Year's Eve, but those were announced well in advance. Not particularly impressed with how they keep passengers informed about delays when they happen (I usually know more from checking flight status online), but otherwise no complaints!

Neil son appear to be chartering a weekly bmi regional flight to Olbia every Saturday this summer starting 19th of may

Not doing a TUI then and taking seats on easyJet, one of whose 3 x weekly flights to Olbia is on a Saturday.

Surprisingly not as I would have thought. The website gives full bmi details when u attempt a dummy booking

The BMIR flights to Dusseldorf at 13.15 and the BMIR flight to Frankfurt at 16.30 are both cancelled today.
Is this a BMIR thing or is there problems in Germany.

I've just posted a reply in the Weather & Technical Diversions, Delays and Cancellations thread.

Very good news for connectivity. However I wonder how Lufthansa feels about it ?

I'm sure Lufthansa and KLM are not going to be worried about Air France codesharing to French-only destinations. I find it very unlikely that many passengers would be going via Amsterdam, Frankfurt or Munich from BRS to anywhere in France so I can't see KLM or Lufthansa missing out on passengers! It think it's a smart move to codeshare to French-only destinations for now.
I've done a quick search to find which French routes Air France serve from Paris-CDG and i've come up with the 20 below.
If the destination is in highlighted in bold it means it is already served direct from BRS.

Rennes (RNS)
Clermont-Ferrand ‎(CFE)
Nantes ‎(NTE)‎ - short Summer seasonal route with EZY
Lyon ‎(LYS)‎ - Winter seasonal route with EZY
Brest ‎(BES)‎
Bordeaux ‎(BOD)‎ - year-round route with EZY
Toulouse ‎(TLS)‎‎ - year-round route with EZY
Montpellier ‎(MPL)‎
Marseille ‎(MRS)‎ - Summer seasonal route with EZY
Pau ‎(PUF)‎
Biarritz ‎(BIQ)‎
Nice ‎(NCE)‎ - year-round route with EZY
Perpignan ‎(PGF)‎
Toulon ‎(TLN)‎
Calvi ‎(CLY)‎
Bastia ‎(BIA)‎
Ajaccio ‎(AJA)‎
Figari ‎(FSC)‎

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
