Heathrow's biggest shareholder is considering a purchase of Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton airports.

Spain's Ferrovial, the biggest investor in Heathrow, has expressed an interest in buying the airport’s three regional businesses.

Ferrovial, which owns 25pc of Heathrow Airport Holdings, has sounded out the company’s board about buying Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton airports, according to Sky News.

Speculation has been mounting about a potential sale of the three regional businesses and Global Infrastructure Partners, the owner of Gatwick, has also been linked to a potential purchase of Aberdeen airport.

Many regional airports around Europe were devalued enormously after the severe worldwide recession. The price of the more successful regional airports is probably as low as they'll get as the economy shows signs of a gradual improvement. There are a number of medium sized regional airports around the UK which might prove a valuable acquisition to any would-be-investor.

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
