CAA Passenger Stats for June 2012

A total of 415,124 passengers used Liverpool John Lennon Airport during June 2012 down -14.6% on the same month last year.

Rolling year passengers for the previous twelve months stand at 4,894,607 down -5.1% on the year earlier.

Another bad month for Liverpool airport with passenger number still in decline. On the whole a very bad situation with neighbouring Manchester airport still in growth territory.

CAA Passenger Stats for July 2012

A total of 453,800 passengers used Liverpool John Lennon Airport during July 2012 down -17.6% on the same month last year.

Rolling year passengers for the previous twelve months stand at 4,797,718 down -7.6% on the previous twelve months.

Another shocking month for Liverpool airport with passenger number showing no sign of recovery.

Dreadful. I can't see things improving for Liverpool airport so long as Easyjet and Ryanair are in 'bed with' Manchester.

CAA Statistics for October 2012

During October a total of 407,065 passengers used Liverpool airport, down -16.7% on the same month the previous year.

Rolling year passenger totals stand at 4,545,764, down -13.3% on the previous twelve months.

Very poor figures for Liverpool airport in comparison with neighbouring Manchester airport which made a +4.7% gain during the same month.

CAA Statistics for June 2013

During June a total of 386,224 passengers used Liverpool airport, down -7% on the same month the previous year.

Rolling year passenger totals stand at 4,270,147, down -12.8% on the previous twelve months.

Still very poor figures for Liverpool airport in comparison with neighbouring Manchester airport which made a +4.2% gain during the same month.

In some ways Liverpool came late to the recession-driven passenger numbers falls seen around the country.

In 2008 it was handling around 5.5 mppa and as recently as summer 2011 was still at 5.2 mppa meaning a drop in the high teens per cent in the last two years.

CAA passenger stats for August 2014

A total of 434,721 used Liverpool airport during August down -7.3% on the same month last year. Rolling year passenger total stands at 4,052,293 down -4.2% on the previous 12 months.

Overall another very disappointing month as liverpool airport takes a hammering from it's main rival airport at Manchester which saw a staggering 8.2% increase on the same month last year.

Not so many years ago LPL was seeing well over 5 mppa. The fact that MAN has embraced the low cost airlines in recent years has stolen a lot of LPL's thunder.

CAA Provisional Stats for Liverpool John Lennon Airport, January 2015

A total of 249,837 passengers used the airport during January, down just -1% compared with January last year.

Rolling year passenger totals stand at 3,981,619 down -5.2%

Finally it's looking like the passenger decline is leveling off at long last. Hopefully the airport will be back into growth territory this summer.

CAA Provisional Stats for Liverpool John Lennon Airport, February 2015

A total of 272,024 passengers used the airport during February, up 3.5% compared with February last year.

Rolling year passenger totals stand at 3,990,707 down -5.1%

Well it appears the passenger numbers are slowly recovering after a period of decline. It's looking like the airport will be back into familiar territory of 4m passengers plus per annum.

CAA Provisional Stats for Liverpool John Lennon Airport, April 2015

A total of 366,322 passengers used the airport during April, up +5.3% compared with April last year.

Rolling year passenger totals stand at 4,031,873 down -3.3%

Passenger figures are back into familiar territory of 4m passengers per annum this month with some signs of growth this year from Ryanair and Aer Lingus.

CAA Provisional Stats for Liverpool John Lennon Airport, June 2015

A total of 392,660 passengers used the airport during June, up 9.3% compared with June last year.

Rolling year passenger totals stand at 4,092,272 down -0.6%

All in all June saw some excellent passenger numbers at Liverpool airport.

Rolling year passenger totals stand at 4,092,272 down -0.6%

Still a long way to go though to reach its best ever year - 2007 when 5.46 million passengers were handled.

Figures just calculated, 10 per cent increase on passengers from 2015 to 2016, passenger throughput 4,746,743

Passenger numbers are certainly on the rise again after a disappointing few years. I seem to remember about 5.5 mppa around 2008. Hopefully, things are on track to get back to that level and then push on.

Yes hopefully so, there is Blue Air's new services to Milan, Rome, Alicante and Hamburg to start yet, so they should help too. Disappointing Czech Airlines, not returning. I used them for a weekend in Prague last year, flight was full both ways. However Ryanair, has replaced them on that route now. Flybe are always an odd airlines from Liverpool, always chopping and changing, to me they never give a route long enough to develop !!

I thought this thread should be revisited with specific data from the CAA, and hopefully I will be able to do it on a monthly basis (although maybe not in as much detail as my Manchester reports as I do not have the historical data at hand):

July 2017
Movements
3,396 = -7.4% month on month
36,318 = -2.8% rolling year

Passengers
492,160 = +2.9% month on month
4,831,580 = +4% rolling year

August at Liverpool recorded a 3 % rise over August 2016, and a 3% increase in load factors.84 % of destinations had a 90 plus % load factor. With all of Ryanair and Wizz Air routes attaining this .

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
