Excellently quick, however factually incorrect as it’s not a “new route” - FAO has been served for many years from CWL (not always by FR), however not always through winter time…

Great news nonetheless!
Technically you could say it was new for winter but it's pushing the definition of new!

Well done to CWL marketing and PR department, for making press release and website information available the same day as the Faro route went on sale.

Faro being extended into the winter has come as a welcome surprise so it makes me wonder if Ryanair might have another surprise in store for CWL? If Faro is a replacement for Wizz over the winter I wonder if they're considering operating any of the other routes that Wizz suspended?

LCA, TFS and ACE are non starters because they don’t have based aircraft there; the only one with based aircraft is ALC but unsure whether they will want to compete with Vueling on that

Can’t see it being LCA if they did add more from CWL. More likely Paphos as they operate there which they don’t at LCA

Do they have a base at Paphos or are they non based flights?

Dublin had a great August - must be a strong contender for extra capacity next year. Great success story for the airline and airport. what are peoples thoughts on Edinburgh @ 4 weekly - under Flybe there were solid pax figures month on month

There's signs of continual growth on CWL-DUB. August saw increases and October will see some too. Hopefully a consistent 5 weekly or even 6 weekly will come next year.
Ryanair don't tend to operate many domestic routes within mainland UK. The only exception I think is STN-EDI which has just been relaunched.
It's a shame Loganair haven't increased frequency but at the same time their fares can be quite high. Maybe one for Wizz to look at but the A321 may be too big.

Good news on Dublin, the difference with Flybe was there was 14 to 15 weekly flights a week on a 78 seater not 6 on a 50 seater. Hopefully we might see Loganair add more frequency in the future.

I really can’t see FR doing domestic flights from CWL at all. Yes they have publicly stated they will be starting 8 new domestic UK routes - of which 4 have been announced from BFS and one between STN and EDI…not sure what else they’ve got planned but I’d be very surprised to see CWL in the mix.

More than happy to be proved wrong!

The problem is that if they did start CWL-EDI we can say goodbye to loganair. Personally I think the airport needs as many airlines as it can get and would prefer to see a frequency increase from loganair and Ryanair add something else.

My reasoning for bringing up Edinburgh and Ryanair was because before the pandemic and Flybe - Edinburgh was carrying 9K monthly. Dublin isn’t carrying that yet and loganair are never going to get decent loads because of prices and general public awareness of the airline. I think the airport should be trying to get someone else on this route as it was one of the airports strongest routes. Great that loganair are on it but it isn’t a recipe for success or a priority for them imo.

I did read today on Devon live that they are doubling the Exeter to Edinburgh route and also increasing the Southampton to Edinburgh too for summer 2023. Maybe there'll be an announcement soon on the possible increase from CWL!

Excellent news!

Those times will change, more than likely a few times, before the schedule kicks in…

Great news for CWL, if the good loads keep the way they are we may even see further expansion by FR. It is going to get very tight at BRS next year, with expansion by Jet2 and Easyjet, together with Correndon, and they will soon have to re-apply to extend their 10 million passenger limit.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
