So if Birmingham airport were to increase its yearly passengers numbers by 6.33%, like last year. Within five years,it's passenger numbers could be at 18,558,478, which would be an all time record for airport.

We’re already at an all-time record for BHX at 13,660,956 pax. ANY increase in pax numbers from this level will be an all-time record for the airport!

Then 15,400,000.00 for 2027.

It is not to say we will get the same % increase again, so you cannot predict this years or future years pax numbers !

With the CAA data now being available, here is my take on the latest monthly statistics. Please remember that, for an unknown reason, there is always a difference between the total passenger figure in Table 9 and the separate figures from Tables 12.1, 12.2 and 12.3.

Some good performances from some routes

Sharm el sheikh,Hurghada:Served by EasyJet and Tui in 2026.Jet2 joining in 2027

Sal and Boa Vista:Tui seem to do good via south Europe and North Africa.Wont be long till we have jet2 or easyjet join in the fun.

Suceava already making its mark on bhx territory with a good percentage rate.Bhx and Wizz have done their research.Expect Sibiu will join in surely as is it progresses

Italy I’m amazed by.Rome,Verona and Milan.A needed expansion from wizz,Ryanair easyjet and jet2 have done decent.Goes to show what low cost does for airlines and airports.Cheaper fees more efficient passengers.

Spain has had an influx of demand especially Barcelona,Seville,Madrid and Valencia.Done really well

North African routes:Agadir,Marrakesh and Enfidha need a boost and sure has proved.Jet2 should open back up Enfidha

Indeed....

EK and QR represented circa 7% of all traffic from BHX in February... so the longer they stay grounded the bigger the impact it has on our figures. Also with political uncertainty in places like Mexico and Pakistan and now with Cyprus being hit with drones, it seems things are feeling a little volatile for aviation of the next few months....
