Vueling look to be adding BCN-MAN given Manchester has just appeared as a destination on their website.

Usually MAN appears for football charters but no footy fixtures have been announced yet, nor will be for some time.

Vueling have finally announced a full schedule of flights from MAN from June.

VY8734 BCN 1900 MAN 2030
VY8375 MAN 2110 BCN 0035

A320 Tue/Fri/Sat/Sun with an extra Thu in August.

Thanks user001,That was a Surprise seeing they are starting in BHX, There website says they start on the 19th June and only bookable till end off October but things can change.
Anyway great news :s_cool

Also worth noting that flights differ on every dy.

The page I saw said the times I quoted, but the other 4 days have a mid afternoon timing at MAN.

Hearing from several sources that Vueling are to open a Manchester base in 2016.

To add to the rumours, there are now airports both on and not on the vueling network coming forward saying Vueling have been talking to them regarding linking them to MAN.

Timisoara Airport in Romania is one, as is Santiago and also Alicante.

Be a bol move if true.

BCN-MAN is now a year round route, bookabe on Mondays and Fridays from 26th October.

There could be about to be movement on the new Vueling base.

Many flights to Barcelona from Manchester have suddenly dropped out of the system, and when I enquired, they said the flights have temporarily been removed to accommodate time changes due to the 'aircraft originating in Manchester' instead.

There is definitely a movement on the base front happening.

Firstly, the fares for August next year have suddenly shot through the roof. Airlines do this when a large scale change is about to take place, and don't nessisarily want to make bookings but do want to keep a market presence for when the relaunch happens.

Secondly, in GDS, some of the timings indicate a based aircraft, with the BCN flight arriving at 1450 but departing at 1410?

Lastly, customer services, via email, confirmed the MAN base but refused to go into details.

One to watch!.....

More wonderful news for Manchester.

Your remark about prices shooting through the roof when an airline is working towards a base caught my eye because Norwegian's fares from BHX and EDI have similarly shot through the roof.

Is the same happening with Norwegian at Manchester?

The same hasn't happened at Manchester as it's unlikely that the current MAN routes would run off a based aircraft anyway, as they are mainly aimed at the Scandinavia-MAN market rather than the other way around.

But, they are indeed great signs for BHX and EDI. See, the Norwegian base can offer something a Vieling base cannot offer, which is potential long haul.

I am surprised that EDI is getting a Nowegian base so soon. Their stand situation is dire and constrained, and, after reading many, many reviews, there'd expansion of EDI is causing a whole stink of bad reviews, something Norwegian has previously done its best to steer clear of.

Vueling will be at least 10 weekly to Barcelona next summer, based on internal schedules.

VY8748 BCN 1315 MAN 1450
VY8749 MAN 1530 MAN 1850

Daily from 30/3/16 on non based aircraft

VY8735 MAN 0655 BCN 1020
VY8736 BCN 1050 MAN 1135

Fri, Sat, Sun from 26/6/16 on based aircraft

Hi user001 all. Great news about a base, i noticed that Vueling for next summer have changed their flight numbers on the non based flights from BCN,at moment they are YV8734/5.

Hi Andy

Yes, this years flight numbers seem to have switched to next years MAN based numbers. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they change again.

Vueling now bookable 6 weekly in July and daily in August on their website.

No base for 2016 now due to board decision based on their poor OTP across the network this year.

New destinations will be added to MAN next summer through other bases instead.

Florence, Ibiza, Palma, Alicante and Seville mentioned.

Vueling will start 3 weekly Alicante on 17th June, with flights on Tue/Fri and Sun.

I am told Seville, Palma and Ibiza will also start soon, but base announcements are staggered so will be announced one by one.

Ibiza was just showing as a direct flight from Manchester, but has been removed again. Looks like that's route 3.

I've had several calls to say MAN-IBZ and MAN-PMI direct on Vueling are bookable, but I can't seem to find these bookable flights.

Obviously one to watch.

New 2 weekly Vueling route to Rome FCO from 27th June

VY6304 FCO 1745 MAN 1945
VY6305 MAN 2025 FCO 0015

Monday's

VY6304 FCO 1240 MAN 1440
VY6305 MAN 1520 FCO 1910

Friday's

Good news, the flights are bookable and means on Fridays we will have 2 Vueling aircraft on the ground at the same time.

Also means Manchester is now confirmed 12 weekly for Vueling so far, with 7 BCN, 3 ALC and 2 FCO.

Let's hope the other routes come off. They have just announced some Balearic expansion, so, hope there is a 2nd round of expansion there. Seville is the one I really want though!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
