Aceshigh I wish you'd frame your posts as opinions rather than you're the spokesperson for anybody with common sense. I disagree with quite a lot that you say. For example IAG are quite right to use brands other than BA ex Manchester as for many people the BA brand is toxic due to well documented historical issues. In the general thread you talk about a generalised "we" ; whereas in reality you are just voicing an opinion. You also say you "tackled" MAG regarding their lacklustre marketing skills. On behalf of whom? I'm quite content with their effort and presence. As a user and MAN enthusiast I resent you claiming your opinions as fact or that you represent me. I can already foresee that when the current period of unprecedented growth slows you will claim "I told you so". Yet, you failed to predict the growth cycle. I also despair of you constantly negatively referencing local culture as though it's somehow the mindset of modern business management (e.g. Coronation street and the use of the word mancs as recent examples)

Aceshigh has his own distinctive posting-style, but so do we all. I have never taken umbrage at any presumed inference that he was expressing opinion(s) on behalf of me? The views he expresses are his own, as are those of all posters. Surely that is understood on here? Clearly there are many issues on which contributors hold varying or opposing points of view. Aceshigh actually brings us information from an impressively wide range of sources ... his current affairs reading list is quite extraordinary. Even the most obscure titles rarely escape his attention. He actually forensically reads through those dry government reports which most of us just see summarised in newspaper columns. On a forum such as this - which thrives on new information - he is a high-value contributor. We won't agree with him on every occasion but that isn't the point of a discussion forum. I'm here to absorb new information, contribute when I can add to the knowledge-base, note alternative opinions, debate contentious issues and strengthen my own understanding of the industry via that process. Challenging content is healthy.

On this occasion, Aceshigh was making the point that brand-recognition of Vueling is weak in the UK. Sadly, I have to agree with him on this. Afew weeks ago, a neighbour was asking me about them ... who are they / are they OK to book with? When I told them that Vueling was a brand-name from the same stable as British Airways their concerns were dispelled. On highly-competitive routes, consumer confidence in the brand does matter.

Just an aside ... I have no recollection of Aceshigh suggesting that MAN would not enjoy a period of traffic growth. If he failed to predict the growth cycle I must have missed his postings to that effect.

Yawner. You are entitled to your opinion and I respect that.

If you dislike my opinion, views , style then feel absolutely free to ignore them. I won't be changing my delivery any day soon.

We have a great forum here with numerous opinions some of which I agree with, some I don't but it's all healthy and dare i say exceptional debate.

Sorry , I'm not prepared to disect your posting or fall into a tit for tat debate. This forum is well above petty squabbles and I consider this discussion closed.

Vueling Summer Expansion

Vueling will increase their flights to 8x weekly throughout August and September. Operates with a mix of 32A and 321 aircraft, I believe.

Personally, I think an early morning departure would have served better and perhaps paved the way to 10x weekly, but every little helps. After Vueling's dramatic cut down in the UK, I suppose we can be satisfied that the BCN link is doing decently.

Barcelona will go 10x weekly next summer with 2 flights on Tue/Thu/Sat.

Flight times vary between mid-morning, midday and evening.

That's curious. I wonder if they are the old CWL slots as the flights were shifted to those days.

Airlineroute reports today:

Vueling during the month of November 2020 plans to operate following routes, based on OAG schedules as of 18OCT20. Most service are operated by Airbus A320 aircraft.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
