Manchester: CAA Provisional Statistics Update

The airport's July statistics are in post #1296 however the CAA data is now available and so I am publishing my take on the information available from them. There is also a comparison of July figures from 2019 (pre-Covid) and 2025.

I was doing a bit of reorganizing of my family history books and came across a copy of Manchester Airport by R.A.Scholefield, which was first published in 1998.
Among the appendices was a chart showing Traffic Growth between 1938-1997.

Based upon my personal records, and the CAA data for August, I have calculated the load-factors for the main routes operating from Manchester. All figures are E&OE as I do find on occasions that an extra flight, or two, might operate over a route using a flight number that is out of the usual sequence.

October statistics are now available from the airport website:

The CAA data for September is now available and here are my calculations of load-factors for many of our major routes: Data based on FR24 and Flightaware.

As usual it is that time of the month for me to produce my usual statistical report. Any variation between the total monthly figures and those that I publish at https://forums4airports.com/threads/5728/page-3 (post #60) is purely due to differences in the CAA data in Tables 12.2 & 12.3

I'm not certain, however it will now include Exeter & Southampton as new routes.

With the CAA data now being available, here is my take on the latest monthly statistics. Please remember that, for an unknown reason, there is always a difference between the total passenger figure in Table 9 and the separate figures from Tables 12.1, 12.2 and 12.3.

Whilst I haven't finalised my logs for December, it looks as if movements for the month will be about 6.9pc up on the previous year.

Okay, my forecast for December movements was slightly out so, for the records here are the official figures for Manchester:

32 million passengers for the first time is pretty impressive for an airport without a hub airline.

The CAA data for November is now available and therefore here is my take on the load-factors for that month. I have found a few minor discrepancies in the October figures and these are therefore also reflected in this update:

I thought I would produce something a little different for you today! Using the data from my daily logs, here is a comparison of the percentage movement share for each airline for the period January 2025-December 2025 plus January 2026 (todate)

Based on my logs I expect movements for January to have been about 4.5pc up on the same month last year.
Let's see the airport's own figures, when they become available later this week.
