Use this prefix for new threads for Manchester Airport
August 2015 total incl. transits was 2,695,798.
2.9m pax if rounded could be anything between 2.851m and 2.949m.

It's great to see the figures so high.
With September and October still being in the summer season and still new routes to come, there is every chance we could still hit the magic 25m.
Also, nearly 3m pax in one month, no wonder there have been reported queues at security!

In the first 7 months of 2016, I reckon pax were up 9.37%, with 4 of those months being over 10%.
If my calculations were correct, it meant we had to achieve an increase of 5.7% over the remaining 5 months of the year.
Because of the higher volumes, August and September are probably critical as to whether we hit that 25m for the full year, although the indications are that there are significant capacity increases this coming winter from the likes of Ryanair.
And mentioning capacity, it should be remembered that the ACL start of summer report for MAN showed an increase in seats of 12.9% compared to the start of s2015. That suggested that 25m would be readily achieved, but some flight cancellations and the fact that actual figures are less than the capacity increase (lower overall LFs?) has meant that the outcome is rather less certain. The MAN figure is normally accurate to the CAA figure so have no reason to doubt them.
If we go off the transit figure (I never understand why some people don't include them, a passenger is a passenger regardless of their flight role at the airport), then we need just under 395,000 passengers to reach 25m. If we can't get Just under 100,000 extra passengers per month until the end of the year, then something has gone very very wrong

I just wish the CAA would pull their fingers out and enable accurate figures to be published in a timely manner.
The fact that some airports have still not supplied data for the months of May and June is inexcusable. For July's provisional figures to be unavailable is sad.

Do you keep annual stats such that you can see the size of the Longhaul market from MAN in 2005/2015?
I presume that it would show significant growth and it would be interesting to compare it to the passenger flows to LHR in particular, but also AMS/FRA/CDG.

I'll have a play around tonight for you. Longhaul will be any country east of the Urals and not bordering the Mediterranean - as per IATA policy.

Sorry it's late but having a primeval version of Excel isn't conducive to rapid data manipulation (I've got Office 2000 installed on my 5 year old PC!). Data kept disappearing from some columns and ended up in the wrong rows when I cut (spreadsheet had 3 worksheets with my total passenger numbers being an addition of the same cell reference on the other 2 sheets!).
In each instance, I'm going to do it geographically with years split 1986 to 2000 and 2001 to 2015. Any blank entries represents no passengers to that particular destination - there will be destinations that don't have any passengers in one of the 15 year stretches but I've kept them in that chart.
