AirAsia X cargo service to London’s Stansted

LONG-HAUL budget carrier AirAsia X will begin offering five-days-a-week cargo service between Kuala Lumpur and London Stansted Airport, as it makes its maiden flight on March 11.

It will operate an A340-300, which has 8,000kg of cargo capacity.

In a statement, AirAsia X said it has appointed IAM, Network Cargo Services, FlyUs, Global Cargo Management and ACT as its cargo sales agents in Western Europe, while cargo handling at London Stansted will be undertaken by Aviance.

How has this airline been performing since its start up at STN? Does it just offer cargo flights, passenger or combi to Kuala Lumpa?

This is the first press release that I have come accross for a while.

AirAsia plan extra Stansted – KL flight from next summer

[textarea]New flying slots at Stansted Airport have been agreed for AirAsia, who will commence an additional service on the popular Kuala Lumpur flights in 2010.

BAA told a local newspaper this week that an additional daily flight from Stansted to Kuala Lumpur will be available from June 30 next year. Leaving at 21:00, the flight will be in addition to the current service which leaves at 01:25 (soon to be moved to 23:00).

It appears the service is doing OK especially having just about got through what was arguably one of the worst economic periods in history.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
