Stansted to get new flights to Jersey

Long established airline Aurigny has just celebrated 40 years of flying to the Channel Islands and last year was voted third best short haul airline in a survey by consumer magazine Which?

The daily flights will leave Stansted at 13.05 arriving in Jersey at 15.05, except on Sundays when departures will be at 12.40 landing in Jersey at 13.55. Return flights from Jersey will leave at 15.35 arriving at Stansted at 16.50. On Sundays return flights will depart from Jersey at 14.25 and arrive at 15.40.

Stansted airport commercial and development director Nick Barton comments: “We’re delighted to welcome the return of a direct link to Jersey from Stansted, which has always been an extremely popular connection with business and leisure passengers alike”.

“Aurigny already operate services from here to Guernsey and we’re looking forward to supporting them as they expand their route network further from Stansted,” Barton adds.

The Channel Islands and Jersey in particular are expected to be a popular summer holiday destination this year as British holidaymakers look for better value closer to home and outside the eurozone.

Aurigny Air Services commercial director Malcolm Coupar says: “We believe that being able to fly to Jersey in addition to our Guernsey flights will prove to be extremely popular as the islands have some of the best beaches and restaurants in the whole of the British Isles”.

“Jersey is the larger of the Channel Islands and was made famous in the 80s thanks to Bergerac which was filmed there. More travellers are just starting to recognise that you can experience a European style destination without leaving Britain,” Coupar continues.

“We also hope that this new route will strengthen connections for businessmen and women who need to travel to Jersey as it is an extremely important offshore finance centre,” concludes Coupar

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
