Have anybody got plans to see the eclipse tomorrow? To see the full solar eclipse you'll need to be in the Faroe Islands but many areas of Europe will see a partial eclipse, with the far North of Scotland having up to a 98% eclipse.

The animation shows it in more detail. The peak of the eclipse is expect around 09:30 to 09:35.

We had some light cloud cover early on so with sunglasses I was able to see the sun when about half covered. The cloud soon moved on though so couldn't look at it after that. Mrs Finkle ordered some special material and her class all made glasses suitable to view the whole thing with, sadly she didn't bring one home for me :diablo:

I worked nights last night so I decided to set the alarm for 09:25 rather than stay up to watch it happening. The sun wasn't in view because of cloud cover but you could tell it was much darker than it would be normally with cloud cover. I could hear a blackbird doing a dusk chorus which made the event seem quite eerie. Mrs Aviador said the birds were going crazy over the bird feeder in the garden at about 09:15 before they all disappeared just before 09:30. She said it was if they thought they'd not eaten enough before dusk.

I managed to catch it inbetween the clouds. Didn't hear any birds, indeed anything that was remotely concerned....mind you I wasn't wearing the hearing aid!. ;)

I was not able to see it personally, because our club meeting fell on the same time when it happened. Anyway, I can just search the interwebs for news regarding the eclipse.

It's the safest way to view an eclipse anyway. All media circles were warning people not to look directly at the sun. I wonder how many people damaged their eyesight that day?

Seems like there'll be an upcoming solar eclipse sometime this year, around September, I think? It'll be visible from the Antarctic and some parts of Africa.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
