I would have thought FRs aircraft was too large tbh.Tbh i think even Ryanair is unlikely for Edinburgh but if you look at the wording of the post it may not be Edinburgh they're talking about but possibly another route.

Head of Marketing & Communications - “ … Plenty more to come”.
Likely to be some extra choice for holidays instead..
Let's just say growth needs a solid base, it won't be 1 jet.
Wonder why VY are quiet?
I wouldn't say that they do operate Newquay and did operate Bournemouth. Look at Dublin. I do think an airline like Ryanair would operate the route 2-3-4 weekly. They have an ability to fill aircraft.I would have thought FRs aircraft was too large tbh.
Maybe. I can see NQY -EDI, being popular in the summer. looks like Bournemouth to Edinburgh still runs until October.I wouldn't say that they do operate Newquay and did operate Bournemouth. Bournemouth to Edinburgh was the only reason I thought Ryanair could be a potential candidate to take over the CWL route. Like I say, there’s not many options in that department.Maybe. I can see NQY -EDI, being popular in the summer. looks like Bournemouth to Edinburgh still runs until October.
Not these days, for domestic.Bournemouth to Edinburgh was the only reason I thought Ryanair could be a potential candidate to take over the CWL route. Like I say, there’s not many options in that department.
The focus would have to be on the route being a leisure route. A city break route from either end for an airline like Ryanair but I think the challenge would be that they can only use certain aircraft on the route and whether as an airline they'd have 4 hours free in those specific aircraft schedules.Maybe. Oh course there is the Brexit element now for FR !The focus would have to be on the route being a leisure route. Is that a professional publication? You'd think that route wise Cardiff was only about Qatar Airways and Doha the way some go on about it.
Welsh Government may not have met with Qatar Airways but that doesn't mean the airport team isn't engaged with them.

Cardiff airport investment under fire as Qatar link stalls despite £400m public backing - Herald.Wales
Ministers admit no meetings with airline that once received Welsh Government marketing support THE FUTURE of Cardiff Airport’s long-haul ambitions hasherald.wales
I doubt it. It seems to have got the 'story' from an Andrew RT Davies Twitter post. That's where they got the £400 million figure it seems. Is that a professional publication?
There are so many errors in that article - both factual and grammatical.
Pinch of salt I’d say…
BA running an "empty" E190 from LCY, then on to DUB today ...?
Would be great if they were checking out CWL for future possible routes...
Direct flights to London (even LCY) seem unlikely, given the rail links, and of course we already have Ryanair going to DUB, and Aer Lingus to BHD, but we really could do with having the EDI route restored.
I think we can definitely rule out any chance of BA ever doing Edinburgh more chance of seeing Easyjet operating the route.BA running an "empty" E190 from LCY, then on to DUB today ...?

I thought the tribunal was told that the money wouldn’t be used for routes that BRS already had so I’m not sure how they’ll get the CDG. As far as DOH is concerned I’m not sure pax will be queuing up to book tickets at the moment! At least there are plenty of small regional airports to go for!!With a route development fund of up to £10 million a year it'll be interesting to see what happens route development wise for Cardiff Airport. I know Paris CDG is a target and Qatar Airways always gets mentioned but hub wise and route wise beyond them it'll be curious to see what gets targeted.
Ive often wondered if the money CWL will be getting will be used on other things, like terminal and infrastructure, which would free up funds from income to be put towards route development on competing routes. Could be a spin put on it.I thought the tribunal was told that the money wouldn’t be used for routes that BRS already had so I’m not sure how they’ll get the CDG.
