Dreams Dreams dreams.....

Hard to 'break the ice' on this one,, but here goes...
Over the past 20 years i have experienced a weird phenomena ,, that is having factually accurate premonitions during dream phases... Usually just before the actual events take place, usually within 2 weeks.. Stay with me here,,please... Events of all types have been logged and dated by me and witnessed by whomever was close by at the time.. Now, i have nothing to prove to anyone here or anywhere else, nor have I anything to gain. you may recall a dream involving the Malaysian airliner that went astray in the Pacific region,, i still stand by the facts of that vision.. I thought i would share the latest (aviation related) dream with you and see where it goes...

Last night, 21/06/15 , Summer solstice...

American Airlines (BA codeshare, as the union jack was visible too) , aircraft with flag painted winglets , A330 or 767 maybe 757, something around that profile.... I viewed a strange approach landing at a US airport, aircraft appraoched low over a series of highrise car parks and buildings, very low, for some reason i felt it was Denver... My view switched to inside as a passenger, plane landed amongst other regular airport traffic but stopped on the runway/taxiway and we were disembarked onto the tarmac, passengers were in various states of panic and disarray. All hand luggage was to be taken with us, then we were boarded onto an unmarked ,white, DC9/MD80 type aircraft as our names were crossed off a list ... End dream.

So.... there you go..keep it in mind.

I'm someone who usually gives short shrift to the paranormal but I don't dismiss every aspect.

One of these is dreams. The brain and the subconscious are amazingly complex entities and the human race only scratches the surface when it comes to knowledge of them.

Like many people I have premonitions. For example, I might idly think that I haven't heard from so-and-so for a long time. The thought then passes from my mind. Then lo and behold that day or very soon so-and-so will get in touch.

Or it might even be something even more prosaic. I was on a bus the other day and wanted to confirm what the time was. I never wear a watch but do carry a pay-as-you-go mobile phone which I use as my clock when out and about. I was too lazy to get it out of my pocket as I thought one of the few public clocks that always keeps the correct time on this bus route will be coming up soon. You've guessed it; the clock had stopped when we reached it.

I have numerous examples of such things. So the brain does do things that we cannot explain.

Plane and train dreams are quite common I believe, and are supposedly easy to untangle.

Whether or not they turn out to be a preminition, well, that is a whole other slice of apple pie ...

That's interesting. I've been around the block a few times but can never recall a dream specifically involving this type of transport. I'm not a heavy sleeper, nor a sound one for the most part, and I believe I tend to dream just before waking up.

My dreams seem mainly to involve family or past employment - I'm now retired.

i think most people dream as they fall asleep and just before they wake, because this is when our sleep is lightest. Ofcourse, we can rarely remember the former, because there is a big chunk of sleep between it and us waking up.

I havent personally had train or plane dreams (flying cars tended to be the most common) but i have heard of many other peoples dreams of these. Of course, I dont think it is so much about the mode of transport, as it is about the experience / event: eg. missing the plane / train, crashing, not having your tickets ... etc ...etc.

I am suffering with a nasty cough at the moment and spent last night tossing and turning. In the early hours as I rolled over Mrs Finkle sat upright with a huge smile on her face, grabbed my nose and started pulling it saying "the zip is stuck". She had no recollection this morning but when I mentioned the zip she said that she had been dreaming that we were camping but couldn't recall the exact details :dunno:

LOL my wife once woke me up in the night to try and teach me German! She was asleep and had no recollection in the morning. Dreams are weird.

I forgot to post this but a couple of nights ago I had a dream that all the Birmingham forumers went on holiday together to an island inhabited by prehistoric creatures.

When we jumped back on to our paddle steamer to leave we were attacked by all sorts of beasties, with two members knocked overboard. Fortunately I'd been thrown a huge minibus sized hammer by non other than Mr Bob Monkhouse and preceded to smash the hell out of an attacking Dilophosaurus.

Once the drama had ended we all jumped on to another boat of welcoming natives, who turned out to be Mr Men/Little Miss characters?

Anyone?

That's strange because last night I dreamed that two people from this forum had gone out to sea off the coast of Wales* in a little boat and were unable to get back to shore because of the current. Myself and another forumer were trying to shout advice to them, then somehow the dream shifted to me being in a village beneath the flight path of Manchester Airport.* I distinctly remember a BA A320 flying overhead.

*That's another funny thing about dreams - I often have a sense that they're happening in a particular place.

Talking of Bob Monkhouse has anyone heard this classic radio faux pas?
Quite sure Bob would have seen the funny side.

From what I can remember I have only had two aviation based dreams and one of those may have really happened. Firstly I have dreamt on a few occasions that after boarding and doing the usual stuff like putting the seat belt on, getting the in-flight magazine out and reading it before you've finished taxiing etc we take off but instead of climbing we stay at an altitude of around fifty feet passing through towns and villages with some people giving us a cheery wave as we pass by. Strange thing is it doesn't feel like anything out of the ordinary. The second one has been a mystery to me for around 45 years. I would have been about 7 years old and had gone to bed around dusk on a summers evening, I remember reading a book in bed which faced the window when i hear the sound of a light aircraft approaching but as it gets near the engine throttles back as if it's about to land. It then passes very low over the house and is clearly visible through the net curtains virtually filling the window . I could see it was a high wing monoplane like a Cessna 150 with a red light on the tail. I can remember waking the next morning wondering if what I had seen was real or a dream.

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
