The more this rumbles on the more it sounds like an A-Level business studies college project that got out of hand.

Don't think so but difficult to see what was really going on. Looked like possibly a crowd funding type exercise and even whether it was definitely airline related but it looked that way. This would be LBA's best way to new European routes but of course they can't be being seen to be having any competitive bias and remember this project has been rumbling on for four years now. I really hope this could take off now though.............

And just when you thought you'd never hear of this again, their website has been updated and they are "recruiting" for pilots.

They are also seeking investors. The investor pitch on their website says:
We estimate a return on investment of 20 x money invested within 1 year

Well, well, well - which are usually just three holes in the ground full of water! So what do we make of this. The website is an interesting read. Now looking to use E170 so an upgrade on the previous E145/135. Two very opposite opinions spring to mind:
1. If somehow they could pull off the investment then yes there is a major regional opportunity as the bigger players scale back
2. In the current climate how on earth would they attract the pax? That said, we wouldn't be talking about a start up as of tomorrow. There would be some lead in time so things may have recovered come any actual launch time.
If they really considered this a dead duck, you would have thought it would have become so after 5 years on the radar, so if this is a serious relaunch attempt then I wish them all the luck in the world, and if LBA is still on their radar, as it appears to be, then maybe, just maybe......................

With a statement like that above re investment return, I just hope that this is not an elaborate investment scam of some description.

My thoughts exactly Bigman..I can't imagine serious players investing in any sort of start up, at this moment in time... Certainly time to watch but from the sidelines

Just seen this reported on another forum regards a few pilots sending in CV for jobs with extrajet

I got an email from them today after sending them in my CV. They want 2,500up front to even apply. If you're applying for a FO position then its a mere 1,750. They say that if you're unsuccessful at interview then you will receive the money back.

All seems fishy to me. Who in their right mind would hand over money on the promise of a job.

I've heard a few low cost airlines do this in the past namely Ryanair, It called "Pay-to-fly".

Wither they still do this i'm not 100% certain! See link for details.. https://www.flightdeckfriend.com/become-an-airline-pilot/pay-to-fly/ also this next link will answer some of the questions. https://www.quora.com/Do-pilots-have-to-pay-deposits-to-airlines-they-are-employed-with

Sorry, try to be positive about what? its clearly a school project, 5 years ago this started.. BMI said they haven't even heard of the airline that they where claiming to be leasing aircraft from. Like anybody would pay to apply before even getting a job hahahah. (Ryanair you pay when you GET the job) & who in the right mind would set up and airline in this climate.. think this thread needs to be put to bed.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
