All week all I've heard about is Black bloomin Friday, my deleted emails folder is full of Black Friday spam.

By coincidence I've just been on Tesco Direct to order my little ones Christmas present only to find out that it has been reduced by over £100. With the Clubcard Vouchers that we've accrued this year I got a Samsung Galaxy Tablet for £14.50!

My first ever 'Black Friday' purchase :)

Today is the deadline for any 'other' bids for the 2022 Games. Very little online so far, so hopefully Brum is the only bid. Just hope it is compliant and successful. Suppose we will find out sometime beforw Christmas. Fingers crossed.

The World Cup groups have been drawn. Not a bad group for England...

  • Group A: Russia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Uruguay
  • Group B: Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Iran
  • Group C: France, Australia, Peru, Denmark
  • Group D: Argentina, Iceland, Croatia, Nigeria
  • Group E: Brazil, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Serbia
  • Group F: Germany, Sweden, Mexico, South Korea
  • Group G: Belgium, Panama, Tunisia, England
  • Group H: Poland, Senegal, Colombia, Japan

I got a Bluetooth speaker reduced from £75.99 down to £34.99. Was thinking of buying one for a while but thought I’d hang on for Black Friday. If there is something you want and it’s a bargain I’ve got nothing against it but all that fighting over TVs a few years ago was just disgraceful.

Sadly I didn’t get any Black Friday flight bargains.

Lose to Panama. Draw with Tunisia and when all seems lost we only go and beat the Belgains...and so the agony continues to the penalty shoot out in round two. Good luck to all of the Teams.

Latest update from the BBC -

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/42197941

It seems that the CGF have recieved 'updates' from Australia, Canada, and Malaysia but did not confirm any official bids.
It also says that an update was recieved from England - revised plans regarding whatever was not compliant?
The CGF will have a board meeting on 6 Dec.

Well i have to say they've done something remarkable there.
I'd get them over to Pyongyang sharpish, they would probably have a good chance of persuading the North Koreans to give up their nukes.

Congratulations to Coventry I hope the whole of the West Midlands region gets behind this.

Let' hope Birmingham can follow this up with the commonwealth games 2022 ..

Let' also hope the idiots go and play with their crayons and stay away.....

I must admit that I took those posts as a little tongue in cheek, I could see how it would be interpreted otherwise but I'm sure that wolfheze wishes Cov well :)

Lets not detract from what a great achievement this is, Coventry has an even bigger task than Birmingham in shaking of a bad reputation and this will be huge for them. At the back end of the 90's I worked there for a couple of years and I have a huge affinity with the place, I also met some fantastic people.

To many the tag of 'Motor City' would be an unwanted one but most of the Coventronians that I have met are immensely proud of the title.

One again well done to all of those involved, so glad that all of their hard work paid off (y)

My apologies if I took tgat the wrong way.

Apologies wolfheze I think I had my Moody head on !

Ray can you remove my first 2 replies ...thanks.

In the meantime great news for West mids.

Thanks for that. While I'm here I will try and explain why I made those comments. When Ray first posted i had absolutely no idea what he was talking about and just responded in a flippant way. A few minutes later it became clear what it was all about and I remembered catching half of a report on midlands today a few nights back concerning Stoke on Trent and that they were hoping to secure funding for amongst other things the restoration of some of the few remaining kilns left in what appeared to be a very grim run down part of what was once a world renowned producer of pottery . From what I saw and heard in the report I felt Stoke on Trent was probably more deserving of the award than Coventry which although has it's problems and deprived areas has enjoyed some recent success stories particularly in the motor industry with for example the continuing expansion and prosperity of JLR and London taxis (shame it takes foreign ownership to get things right) hence my second post. Anyway hopefully the money will be allocated properly, spent wisely and provide a lasting legacy.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
