This thread is for anything off-topic that's of a local flavour.

If it's something that might interest members on other parts of the site place it in "Discuss Things Not Related To Aviation"

Speaking of flavour, has anybody tried the American Diner Huckleberry's on Yeadon High Street yet?

Looking at the size of the portions, the population will be as obese as the American population in no time!

Not yet been to Huckleberry's but this week it has been open on (Easter) Monday and Tuesday when it would normally be closed. Perhaps they're now open every day. It's on my 'to do ' list, along with Turk'uaz and Ephesus.

To be honest, the Great Wall of China , Rome ,St Maarten and Mac Donald's are long before trying Huckleberry 's on my to do list.

Somebody at work has been over the last week, she wasn't overly impressed by Huckleberry's food or service. Think I might give it a wide berth.

The official Tour de Yorkshire Poster.
Did anybody else go watch it last year? I went to the Chevin to watch the cyclists pass, not exactly the "Tour de France" but it was still a great atmosphere.

I watched it pass through rural East Yorkshire, even Wiggins waved to us (and everyone else).

I went and watched last years Tour De Yorkshire at York Knavesmire/Race Course where stage 2 on the Saturday finished last year after doing 3 laps around the Centre. Also watched the Womens' race before hand.

I am currently thinking of heading down to Otley for the start of this years stage 2 and then afterwards travel down to Doncaster for the finish.

Did anyone else ever go to Leeds' Fab Cafe? It was situated underneath the Merrion Centre prior to the redevelopment of the area. I had some great nights there. They did say they wanted to relocate but nothing ever came of it.

Yeah it was a good in there. Last time I went in there was just before it closed and remember my friends caused a bit of trouble. Won't say what happened but you can guess.

There was never any trouble on the occasions I visited. I loved the place, especially the Dr Who and Star Wars memorabilia and the tucky shop selling Space Invader crips!

I understand that the Aviator on Yeadon High Street is opening again this Thursday in it's new guise as the Yeadon Yards.

I hope The Yard is a success. It needs to be to shake off The Aviator's shabby image.

They've spent in the region on £100,000 on refurbishing the venue in #Yeadon. It's going to be focusing on real ale and food as part of the agreement the company now has with Leeds City Council licensing department. #realale #pubgrub

Just read that Homebase in Yeadon is closing down. It's going to be a ballache having to go to Greengates or B&M in Shipley.
