SeanM1997 on X reporting that NAP has been removed from the Jet2 website (was due to commence 25 May 2024) - and was one of those Saturday morning departures mentioned in #369

I'm surprised Naples hasn't worked for them but they don't seem to be as strong as TUI in their Italian offer in general.

I would look at it this same. Similar to how I've told a couple of members of the BHX forum to look at it.

They have a limited resource (aircraft) which are allocated to the BRS base. Jet2 know they don't plan on any additional aircraft joining the fleet which are not already accounted for in the programme next year. So with that in mind do they do a route which will be marginal profit/revenue or do they go for something they know will make profit and bring the revenue?

It would well be that NAP S24 won't work. But S25 maybe launched.

Or it may never return. I suppose the challenge for Jet2 with destinations like Naples which are more niche than routes to Turkey and Spain, is that they only have package holiday and city break to support them. They don't have a cruise holiday business as extra support like TUI.

However have you booked with a cruise company such as Royal Caribbean? If so don't be surprised to see who they use.

Not enough to sustain Naples from Bristol it would seem and they're a separate company not part of the Jet2 group.

Naples is not really a port where cruise ships are based looking at cruisemapper only one MSC ship is based in Naples the usual arrival/departure points in Italy are Rome or Venice which is where flights will operate from.

Naples is obviously a popular port of call during cruises for the likes of Pompii and Capri but seemingly not sufficient demand for Jet2 from Bristol.

If i remember correctly Marella Cruises did have a ship based there.

The likes of easyjet and Ryanair have always been very successful at Bristol. Now Jet2 has settled in, how was their arrival perceived by the local populous? Do you think the new airline has made any impact on the established airlines at Bristol? I have always been interested in how Jet2 has been able to open such a substantial base at airports even in places where they were a lessor known airline business.

2025 has been released. New route to kalamata ( think it was an original planned route that was canned before starting ). There’s also some frequency changes on other routes but no ground shaking increases.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
