Interestingly the adverts I've seen on TV in Wales didn't mention Bristol.
You have the welsh version of channels i would think. If you can get the west channels the adverts say BRS.It is most likely the adverts on the Welsh channels have not been updated.

I suppose it depends on what Jet2 has paid for. I'm no advertising expert but it seems certain that the wider the audience the more a company will pay to advertise. Perhaps Jet2 has calculated that additional outlay for more extensive tv advertising coverage won't bring in a big enough reward for them.

I seem to remember someone posting in the CWL forum a few weeks ago that Jet2 had been leaflet-dropping his area of South Wales re the BRS operation. We've not had any Jet2 advertising through the door where I live on the edge of south-east Bristol.

The adverts I've seen were for Jet2 holidays so it could just a nationwide generic advert as Bristol wouldn't be an option for all of Wales.

True Jerry. But Jet 2 have been and will advertise that they fly from BRS which they have not done before. They will advertise BRS more as its a new base and not every one will know that they will operate from BRS.It might even pick up trade that has been flying from the airports in the midlands.

I doubt very much that Jet2 will be looking at attracting passengers from English Midlands airports. Their target will be England's south west region bo doubt including Bournemouth and Southampton areas.

Jet2 used to advertise their BHX services in the West Country edition Metro. Presumably they attracted a decent amount of custom from the West Country and it's possible that some of these might patrons switch to BRS if they were aware that Jet2 was operating from there.

No doubt some will have become used to travelling from BHX and will continue to do so even if it's further to reach. We've seen on many occasions that people will eschew their local airport to use identical services from a more distant one through familiarity.

Due to high demand for flights and holidays for summer 2021,Jet2 has announced another 4 routes for summer 2021. Nothing has been said bout any extra aircraft but that will happen sooner rather than later. Jet2 have put summer 2022 on sale already and they will have 33 destinations with 70 departures a week. This has come about because of high demand over expectation for s2021.

Just a quick question when you look at jet2.com and then compare with Jet2holidays.com , the frequency of flights on offer differs. Is that always the case ?

They were announced 1st December.

The new routes announced will be for 2022. My mistake i should have said 2022 and not 2021. I hope this clarifies. The new routes are confirmed that was released back a few months ago. Good news and not much of that about lately. I dont know if this will mean another based aircraft.

I think there will be aircraft no5 for summer 2022. There will also be increases to the likes of kos , dalaman , Antalya , Lanzarote , Tenerife and palma to fill the gaps.

Looking at their careers website; they are after Dispatchers and Station Controllers. Which indicate they may just go self handling from the outset. Or have as much of it, controlled by themselves, from the outset.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
