Sunday & Monday the A388 has averaged 576 pax or 94% LF
Roll on the third service returning
Third A388 or return of the 777?

As for 50 mins: I had to wait 20 mins at Alicante for a A219 with only 7...yes...7 bags in the hold! It would have taken them a week if they had a A380 visit.

Perhaps something to consider when talking about the return of the morning service:

It doesn't happen for over a year and even then only for 6-7 weeks, but if the morning service has returned by then I'd expect it to go for this...
I thought they closed the runway just a couple of years ago for a similar thing and diverted some stuff to DWC.
Seems to be quite soon since last time, not sure what the usual interval is though.

They closed the "north" runway for the same thing in 2014. Now it's the "south" runways turn. The article says that DWC will be available for the duration of the works, but also that airlines will have to reduce their schedules.

I watched a program on Quest a month ago, which was produced in 2014, and they resurfaced both the North and South runways.

I am flying EK37 on Saturday and the seat map shows 1 seat available on the lower deck and 7 on the upper deck. That's just for Economy class.

A couple of days ago when trying to change to Friday it showed zero availability. It does appear the two flights run very close to capacity during peak times...

Its incredible how replacing the triple daily 777 service with a double daily service of the worlds largest passenger aircraft is actually a reduction in capacity. In my opinion anyway

1x A380 + 2x B77W = 2,930 seats daily

2x A380 = 2,460 seats daily

A reduction of 470 seats daily or -16%
So if the actual reduction is 12% then emirates are justified in the change to two A380s. Any reduction is based on loads and not capacity. Questions are how much of that reduction is due to the loss of the 3rd flight - I.e. timing, and whether those travellers who would have used the 3rd flight still travel to the UK albeit to another airport?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
