Museums are a way of showcasing a countries art, culture and history to visitors to a country. Yet Wales could possibly see it's national museum in it's capital shut down because of the government cutting it's grant.

I've always believed that museums in Wales should charge an entry fee. Whether that's St Fagan's, Big Pit or any of the museums in Wales that are currently free. WG have to make difficult funding decisions based on the money that comes from Whitehall (or lack of). So cuts are inevitable and difficult decisions have been made. It's a sign of the times. Those who can also afford to pay for their prescriptions should also pay too.

I suspect entry fees is where'll they'll end up going tbh but the problem is the museum has to be there or open for it to charge.

I’ve never been disappointed with our museums and personally I’d be happy to pay as they need to survive. I still think it should remain free to schools.

Ken Skates the new Transport Minister is making a speech to the Senedd today, setting out his new policies. I wonder if the airport will get a mention.

Sorry Jerry I have been away today, so I haven't managed to find out any details of his speech as yet.
I've listened to the plenary question and the airport wasn't mentioned. It was about the 20mph and busses.

A member of the public put in a freedom of information request about Vaughan Gethings trip to India.
The First Minister of Wales and 3 others travelled from Heathrow flying out with Virgin Atlantic and back with British Airways. Both flights were in business class.

Bristol Airport has today announced plans to expand the airport to handle 15 million passengers per annum. The plans include an enlarged terminal building, a runway extension, new walkways to aircraft stands, and more retail outlets. All this taking place whilst the present owners are putting the airport up for sale. The North Somerset Council strongly objected to the present to the increase of 12 million passengers, so they may have a fight on their hands. I wonder if CWL will object to their plans?

BRS opposed the CWL funding from the WG, so absolutely CWL should oppose the expansion, with the argument that there is untapped capacity at CWL which wouldn't require any development.

Hopefully we'll see a few flights to Switzerland as Cymru have qualified for Euro 2025. It's the women's team first tournament. They beat Ireland 3-2 over 2 legs.

After the resignation of Andrew RT Davies and the election of Darren Millar as the new leader of the Senedd Conservative Group there has been a reshuffle of the shadow cabinet. This means the Tories have a new shadow minister for Transport. Natasha Asghar has been replaced by Peter Fox who is the new Shadow Cabinet Secretary Infrastructure, Transport and Rural Affairs.
Will be interesting to see how he approaches issues to do with Cardiff Airport.

Apparently UEFA have reported that initial ticket sales for Wales Women in Euro 2025 have been good.
Cymru are in Group D with France, England and Netherlands.
First game is Netherlands on 5/7/25 in Lucerne, next game is 9/7/25 against France in St Gallen and then the final group game is on 13/7/25 against England.
Hopefully we'll see plenty of flights from Cardiff Airport and people flying from the airport using KLM and other routes to get to Switzerland.

As reported by Sean M on X it looks like Aer Lingus have taken a few routes off sale (not cardiff). I wonder and hope that they might add some double daily routes from CWL next summer.

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
