I see that 2 of the tory party members in Wales have resigned. 1 to resign is the Welsh tory party leader.and 1 other has resigned as well' I dont know if this will be the end of the matter or the other parties want to make a meal out of it.
It'll be used as a stick to beat them with for sure. Andrew RT Davies has been appointed group leader.

So they should resign, and i must say it should have been a lot earlier.
Imagine if it was a Labour leader who had done a similar thing, four days after the ban came into force, there would have been tories frothing at the mouth to oust that person!!
Once again (Dominic Cummings etc) one rule for them and another for the rest of us. Hypocrites.
They were intensely critical of Vaughan Gething over him eating chips with his son on his daily walk last year.

Just been looking at microsoft news. BBC wales did a interview with Yvette amos in her house. On the shelve behind her was a vibrator stood up in full view of camera.I expect she will be reminded many times in the future about it.

Since the South China Morning Post changed ownership 4-5 years ago it's reckoned by many to be turning into a propaganda instrument to promote the Chinese government's outlook on world events. The growing Wales and Scotland independence movements suit China's case that the UK (ie the Westminster government) treats these smaller countries within the Union as colonies in the way that China contends the Westminster government did and is still trying to do with Hong Kong (today's news about granting the right of entry to the UK for 300,000 Hong Kong residents which China regards as blatant interference in a foreign state's domestic affairs is a case in point).

I note the writer of this article is London-based.

On a related theme Boris Johnson's visit to Scotland was the expected blundering disaster. Although in public Nicola Sturgeon opposed his visit, in private she must have been delighted that he came as apparently every time Johnson visits Scotland it increases support for independence there.

He didn't even try to be diplomatic, brazenly saying that people don't want another referendum which runs contrary to all the evidence.

I found this verbatim account of Johnson's 'speech' at the end of his visit to Scotland. It sounds more like the work of a Johnson comic impersonator

If [the vaccine is] approved by the MHRA then we will have 60m doses of it by the end of this year for the whole of the British people. And so it’s a success for Scotland. Uh, it’s a success for, uh, Britain and, uh, it’s a success for Britain because it is a success for Scotland. It’s a success for Scotland because it’s a success for Britain.

“So, uh, I’m, uh, you know, it was very, very encouraging to see it. That’s, that’s … I may have done some other things as well while I have been here although I can’t immediately recollect what they are. It’s been an action-packed day and always a joy to see you.

Every time I see Boris on the news, he is always dressed up in something or other eg. a hard hat or white coat, he seems to take every opportunity to pose in front of the cameras, when a lot of the time he is making himself look very foolish. His visit to Scotland was a complete PR disaster.

The problem with Johnson and co is that they don't realise that they are part of the problem and that going to Scotland to essentially tell the Scots that they are useless and need England isn't a tactic that will work.

It appears it's not just airports in Wales that UK government won't help. Wrexham FC despite playing in the English pyramid have been denied funding from the Winter Sports Survival package that the UK government has put in place for club's not in the Football league. Apparently they must seek help from the Welsh government.

The subject of Welsh independence being discussed in Hong Kong!

the problem with Welsh independence it is like Brexit, a complete unknown and a campaign to bash the Establishment. There’s also a lot of what if’s and probably like the brexit campaign, lots of positive spin like “the easiest trade deal in history”. If someone from the leave camp came up with a proper plan for leaving instead of just hating on the tory’s, like what happens with currency, freedom of movement, trade deals etc then we can have a proper debate.

There's always what ifs in life. Here's one. What if Scotland becomes an independent country in next 5 to 10 years and where will that leave Wales?

Maybe you might want to read Plaid Cymru independence commission.

a campaign to bash the Establishment.
It is more than that. For some it's an opportunity to get rid of the establishment but for others it's an opportunity for a fairer society. Other's feel Wales is better making decisions for itself rather than Westminster and that Westminster holds Wales back and that independence is the best future for Wales. Others see 1it as a way of rejoining the EU others would be happy with UN membership. Many just want Wales to finally be an independent country. Others see it as the best way of achieving a socialist Wales and others a conservative Wales. Many see it as the only way to protect Wales as a nation and it's culture.
Lots of different opinions and visions but all have one thing in common in that they want Wales to be an independent country.

It is clear there is nowhere near enough support for independence in Wales at the moment - polls all seem to show support in the 20-25% range over the last year, up from the 15-20% range over the previous four years. Plaid at the last Welsh elections got 20% of the vote and seem to be polling in the 20-25% range currently.

I appreciate Welsh independence is what you believe in, but you must recognise that the vast majority of the Welsh do not want it.

What if Scotland becomes an independent country in next 5 to 10 years and where will that leave Wales?

Or if it does happen I would suggest there is just as much chance the experience will actually increase support for staying the union rather than increasing calls for independence. I think you are just assuming Scottish independence, if it did happen, would go well.

Those polls include the don't knows take them out and it's polling in the low 30s which is light years ahead of where it was polling 5 to 6 years ago which I believe was below 10%. YesCymru have gained 15,000 members in the last year making them the second biggest political organisation in Wales behind Labour and it also gives them the finances to do more Facebook and more offline advertising to promote Welsh independence and the topic as a whole is getting more mainstream news time through articles in the telegraph and guardian and mentions during the BBC news which raises profile. There's still a lot of work to be done and of course a pro indy government needs to be elected but for the first time an independence referendum promise will be campaigned upon by Plaid in the May elections and although they don't stand a chance of election outwardly pro independence Labour candidates have been put up for the May elections.
As for Scotland, whatever happens Scottish independence will change the nature of the union it won't be a British union anymore it'll be back to a union between Wales and England and that will change thing's. Carwyn Jones former First minister has said that he doesn't see a union between England and Wales as workable and that independence may well be Wales only option.

Everyone is fully totally entitled to their opinion and to campaign for that they will. I fully respect people who want to advocate Independence for Wales, Scotland and those who voted to leave the EU.

However, what I don’t like is false truths being sold. Brexit is turning out to be a disaster for business after all the false truths that were sold to us. I can see a lot of these being recycled into an Independence campaign for Wales. Wales would try and do a cherry pick deal with England like the UK tried to do with the EU. Wales would have to follow English standards in able to sell goods and services into england in the event of Independence (Where have we seen this before!?).

The other fantasy I don’t like is many people advocating Welsh independence is that Wales would automatically join the EU. Unless Catalonia makes a successful breakaway Spain would veto that in a heart beat.

The union is in desperate need of reform just like the EU is. No doubts there at all.

Brexit is turning into a disaster because of the UK government approach not necessarily because Brexit was a bad thing in itself.

With reference to Scottish independence Spain have said that they wouldn't veto Scotland joining the EU and personally I don't see why they would Wales either especially if independence was through constitutional means. I believe they block Kosovo because of the lack of referendum from Serbia so as not to set a precedence for UDI for Basque or Catalonia, ironically the UK supports Kosovan independence as did the majority of EU members.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
