The BBC has been running a story nationally about a drone incident causing a near miss with a Flybe ATR 72 aircraft landing at Newquay Airport. In the report the pilot claimed the drone was flying alongside the aircraft. The Police are investigating.

“The close proximity of the drone to the passenger aircraft shows a complete disregard by the operator for public safety and we are appealing to the public for information to help us track down this reckless drone operator,” said the force's Inspector Dave Meredith in a canned statement.

There were no Border Force staff at NQY on Sunday evening when a flight from Alicante arrived. Staff had to be sent from Exeter meaning passengers were held at NQY for up to two hours after their arrival before being into the country.

Bet they weren't happy! It sounds like that Border Force only assign staff when there is non UK fights on the day rather than have someone there all the time.
