So following on from Frankfurt and Alicante, one year on and Ryan air are set to launch Faro for summer 17..
The flights are twice weekly.
Great news for the local's this way and nearby Devon and also some completion for Flybe at Exeter. Given their growth at Newquay I can't help but wonder if they may try a Palma or Malaga.. I think both had demand here for those routes, Malaga was popular as a winter route with monarch.
I can't find an official press release from Newquay at the time of writing this but it is on the news feed on RA website.

Now on Ryanair website.

http://corporate.ryanair.com/news/n...17-schedule-with-new-route-to-faro/?market=en

Excellent news and as I suggested on the Cardiff thread were a similar route and frequency was announced today by Ryanair, it might in part be down to the one million plus people from both Devon/Cornwall and South Wales who use BRS. Ryanair BRS-Faro is daily next summer. This summer it was daily except for July when it rose to 8 x weekly and August when it was 12 x weekly (against easyJet's 13 x weekly).

So it might be an exercise to see if the airline can get more passengers on the route from CWL and NQY than they would have done if they'd left it solely at BRS. There must be a good chance they will because some people from Devon/Cornwall and South Wales who might have used eayJet to FAO could well use their local airport with Ryanair instead.

Ryanair kicked off their summer schedule this week. Not sure what the loads are. Will be interesting to see how they go over the summer.. those permanent residents of kernow are hoping that Alicante at least might go into the winter.. plenanty of rich Cornish folk that like a bit of winter sun as Malaga proved some years ago..

The seat selector for tomorrow's NQY-FAO is showing 170 seats occupied thus far, a load factor of 89.9%.

Very good indeed. Been lots of publicity down here in the press etc..
I guess Alicante and Hann have also done well with both back again..

Anyone know how well the Ryanair flights are going passenger wise? I saw some really cheap faro tickets for June which did make me wonder if they were struggling to sell seats.
Al Tittering gave a speech the other day in which he said the Ryanair flights were a "use then or loose them" situation and he is unsure of Ryanair's post brexit plan and what that would mean..

If you have a look in the Cardiff Ryanair thread you'll see that the latest NQY loads were being discussed there yesterday as part of a discussion re how the NQY and CWL Faro routes might be affecting the BRS route.

Flew out and back to Alicante last week. Flight was pretty much full both ways. Great to see so many people using the flight and using a great local asset. Alot of people are hoping this or the introduction of a Malaga flight is launched as a year round destination. A Winter sun route would absolutely be popular. It would also appear that Hann is doing well.. There is a big focus on the German inbound market into Kernow.
As for the airport itself, it won't be able to cope with its current facilities if growth continues at its current rate.. They need a covered walk way and enlargened arrivals and departure halls as a minimum in my view.. I would hope that the airports impressive growth attratcts some private investment and escalate a break away from Cornwall council.

I know an airport at the other end of the Government Region of the South-West that would love NQY's runway.

NQY, although still less than half the size in passenger number terms, has closed the gap with EXT noticeably in the past year or so, even with EXT itself growing its passenger numbers. This is all very encouraging for the South West Peninsula.

Ryanair Summer 2018 so far will be Alicante 2 weekly Wednesday and Sunday, Faro 2 weekly Tuesday and Saturday and Frankfurt Hahn 2 weekly Thursday and Sunday.

Was very popular last year. Incidentally I have been looking at Alicante in March and they are expensive also.. £140 outbound. Cheaper coming back...
The following weekend is Easter which is even more expensive at over £200 outbound for two out of the following three flights with the other just under £200.

Perhaps not so good for the punters but good for the security of the route.

Alicante

Ryanair has announced its winter 18/19 programme from Spain with 29 new routes. They might not necessarily be new routes per se but new to the winter as with ALC from NQY which will operate 2 x weekly through next winter.

Brilliant news and what the airport has been working towards. I was hoping that they may try a different winter route like the canaries but Alicante will do just fine for now!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
