New route to Antwerp along with increases elsewhere, 230 flights per week in total.

The airport has released its summer schedule for Stobart Air/Flybe, which is now up to 230 flights a week.

Included is the return of Croatian destinations Dubrovnik and Zadar alongside a new route to Antwerp which will be served with a 70-seater ATR72-600 series aircraft.

A total of 15 routes will be operated with extra seats to European cities such as Budapest, Cologne, Vienna and Prague and daily flights are also on offer to Prague. French destinations will include Rennes, Caen and Lyon and will have an additional 15,500 seats.

What do you think about Manchester as a route, air from the NW to London now has moved to rail so much as it's so fast these days, think they might struggle. I did fly this route years and years ago, it was a positioning flight I think for Burstin Travel, came down from Manchester over a weekend on a 146 of Air Eccose I think.

It will be interesting to see what traffic they get for a SEN-MAN route. I can see some transiting pax but with SEN being where it is will it become a preferred option to the train for many in East London, Kent and Essex?

I think East London and Essex maybe, but when you think Virgin Trains run numerous services to the Northwest from Euston it pretty fast time, my own station at the Runcorn does London in 2 hours, it's hard to beat.

I'm surprised they didn't go for Edinburgh instead. I'd thought that would've been a better option.

Yes or to a city without a London air link, I think Carlisle is due to get a link to Southend again it's another Stobart Airport.

Curiously none of Stobart Air's flights from Southend are onsale on Flybe's website from the 31st March 2019.

SEN to MAN and GLA appear to be axed from Jan 19. CAX is still planned.
It sounds like the Stobart Flybe franchise may well end after March 2019 as i believe there aren't any flights onsale.

I don't really understand how it works, they just get other carriers to run their routes ? So Loganair to Carlisle ?

Maybe its because Ryanair going in there ? I think Flybe were doing some French routes also ?
Caen, Lyon and Rennes. Whether Stobart keeps them going? I honestly can't see them operating flights under their own name but it's been wondered whether they'll use Ryanair to sell them after March. They have been though advertising for E jet pilots in Dublin apparently so it's possible they'll shift to there.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
