Re the Flybe aspect, I've copied your post to the CWL Flybe thread so that it can be discussed further there if required. I've added some information in that thread about Flybe's previous links with Boeing 737s.

Yeah they have deleted CWL from their list. I'm wondering if they've changed tack with the airline as CWL, GLA and NCL will largely be holiday market but from what i've read the new CEO wanted to target China and the far east and from my understanding be like WOW but going eastward. Most of their western european flights seem to be large major cities which might be popular with Chinese tourists. Hopefully CWL may be on their radar for next year.

It's still very quiet when it comes to CWL and Cobalt. Currently the only UK airports that feature on their website booking engine are LGW, MAN, STN and BHX. NCL, GLA and CWL that once appeared were removed in the spring - see#16 above - and thus far have not been put back.

Does anyone have any inkling if or when CWL might start?

I don't think we'll see them anytime soon. It's a pity as a scheduled airline to LCA would've been a nice addition and i think they've opened a base at Paphos now as well. Hopefully one day we'll see them at CWL but I'd be surprised if it was anytime soon.

Unlikely be launched unless there is a commitment from a tour operator, Not keen on launching new regional U.K routes as seat only, If a tour operator comes on board then potentially could lead to something, looks a bit of a long shot for the time being mind, especially as there is no LCA low cost route served from CWL and BRS I think it would have done well.

Another airline biting the dust as Cobalt is to cease trading later this evening. They never did show up at CWL, despite early indications that they would.

I wonder what happened to Craig who was responsible for the previous post in this thread. He was a prolific and interesting poster for a while in the CWL forum. He last visited F4A in February this year.

Sadly over recent months years Europe has seen lots of start up airlines that have only managered to grown to under 10 aircraft. With the airspace and slots in Europe being so busy they can’t compete with the big boys. As we approach the winter season these smaller companies simply haven’t made enough to sustaine the quite months coming up.

Add in the rising fuel prices and the continuing uncertainly over Brexit which will negatively impact the EU as well as the UK if a satisfactory agreement for both sides cannot be reached, and we might not have seen the last of airline failures around Europe.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
