It's amazing just how much sugar we ate, I suppose we were a lot more active than many of today's kids.

Pacers were they the spieremint chewy sweets? Tasted a bit like toothpaste?

Great thread by the way. I was thinking of starting an 80s TV thread but I guess this covers the lot.

Just so many merrories, just brilliant!

Those are the ones.

We used to have swimming lessons on a Thursday evening, we'd go across to the shop opposite Stechford Baths afterwards to spend our pocket money and Pacers were a favourite for a while.

I don't think that a Wham bar will ever be beaten.

My dad used to always buy us refreshers if we were going to the coast or on a long journey.

I think my sister still has her View Master

After seeing the film this game gave me nightmares. I can still see the box sat on top of an old, dark wood wardrobe that was in my room! I used to dream that my bedroom filled with water and I was left floating on my bed in heavily shark infested waters. It's amazing how a child's mind works :drowning:

Great game though (y)

Loved the jaws films. The entire series of them used to be on each Christmas or New Year.

I think it's certificate 18 so not suitable for under 18 years of age.

Loved spitting image was that the 80s crikey I thought it was the 90s. I could never understand why my parents were watching a puppet show late at night laughing their socks off. ROFL.

I remember something similar to Candy Whistles, but without the plastic 'whistle'. The whole sweet was made out of some sugary compound.

Chocolate Limes? Mmmmm, I'd go out and buy a bagful tomorrow (are they still available?).

As for Walnut Whips, I swear that the original ones also had a walnut at the base of the whip inside the chocolate coating. Honestly, I swear!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
